Ive looked online and feel thick! Basically I need to make 2x10inch cakes that will be stacked on top of each other and 1x8 inch cake that will sit on top! Had anyone got a recipe ?

If, like me, you are not an expert in cake, I always got better results from a cake mix. Any time I made from scratch, they inevitably sank in the middle. The taste is better making from scratch but the visual effect is better using a packet mix so it depends what your priority is. Supermarket brand mixes are fine. Good luck!

They say

Weigh your eggs ie 4 for your 2 main ones

Then weigh the sugar, flour and butter the sage weight as your eggs

That's it

Add a teaspoon of baking powder if you're not using self raising flour

Bake for around 30 mins on 180

Stick a cocktail stick or whatever in the middle and if it comes out with cake mix on cook another 5 mins or if it comes out clean it's ready

I use a basic recipe by Delia Smith but you can use Mary Berry or whomever

Basically the ingredients weigh the same

Just remember that the butter and sugar need to be whisked for a good few minutes to ever get a decent cake

An electric whisk really will make a better cake than by hand by just whisk whisk whisk

Then add the eggs then flour

You can add a some vanilla essence if you want
