Sitting on hard chairs makes me feel like I need to pee

I am on this forum asking this question because I have tried to google this and I haven't received information that explains why. As in the last few months I have found if I sit on a hard chair I feel the urge to urinate. Not always needing ut when I go. However I can sit on bed or sofa etc this doesn't happen it's like a hard chair is affecting my nerve which makes me feel I need the toilet. I do go and do end up peeing mostly but annoying when trying to eat dinner anywhere sitting g on hard chair and feeling like I need to go and not sure if I actually do need ut.
Anyway was wondering if this is just a me issue ir can anyone else say that hard chairs cause this feeling.

No in my home it's very bizarre as I thought it's not just sitting as I can sit on my bed and not urgently needing it but the moment I go eat my tea in kitchen sit on chair I can feel it annoys me even though just been to loo

I am starting to wonder if it's pressure like maybe nerve thing if I sit on hard chair it only started in last year and seems to be getting worse but not if I sit on a soft one

How old are you? And has anything changed for you recently such as putting on/losing weight, uti, constipation, etc?

I am 44 and yes I am a bit bigger then what I was last year so maybe that's what has happened

Sometimes being early perimenopausal can loosen everything down there in the pelvic area, then coupled with a hard surface, can squish and move things around. Do you think there could be a possibility of a slight prolapse pushing against your bladder? A softer surface can help absorb displacement iyswim. I could be totally wrong btw, it's just bits I've read over the years. Perhaps try doing kegals for a few months and see if that helps

It's probably vaginal atrophy and it's a peri/menopausal symptom. It was the first one I had and very painful. I now use vagifem prescribed by GP and to plump the tissue back up. Do you get uti s? That is another symptom as well as soreness and dryness. After using vagifem for about 3 years I still can't sit on hard surfaces and need a wee urgently if I have to, but it's a lot better than it was. I would advise going to GP to be checked for this and read up about it online. Best of luck. 🍀
