Will my arrests show on enhanced DBS?

5 years ago I was arrested twice for common assault (1 common assault and 1 assault by beating I think was officially recorded). Released with no further action. No further arrests or convictions. Will they ever be removed/precluded from an enhanced DBS check? I found this link but couldn’t work it out as it wasn’t a caution I don’t think but a NFA arrest.

Actually, on this topic, I would also appreciate some knowledge. My adult son was arrested and charged with attempted murder a couple of years ago. It was determined by the PF that the charges were not appropriate and eventually the case was dropped with no further action. Would that show up on a DBS check? Sorry for jumping on OP but am very worried about my son's chances of employment in the future.

I'm ex police / safeguarding.
An enhanced DBS will bring up arrests and any other police contact.
It will be disclosed to the organisation and then it's down to them if to assess the risk.
HTH and I hope it turns out ok for you. Everyone deserves a chance.

I am looking at my Enhanced DBS and my arrest from around 7 or 8 months prior (with DNA) is not recorded. This could well be because the reason for my arrest was not thought to be terribly significant in terms of the role/organisation but the facts remain.

The best advice you have been given is to discuss with someone in the organisation you're seeking to join. I was asked to do some work for an organization and I told them I was apprehensive as I'd been arrested. They told me to go through the process and we'd deal with it if it came up. It didn't.

Because they wouldn't have been relevant to safeguarding. If you had been convicted or cautioned for child cruelty for example they probably would have been disclosed.

Enhanced DBSs aren't spat out by a computer, a human makes a judgement about what should and should not be disclosed, cautions and spent convictions absolutely can be disclosed in certain circumstances.

His NFA wouldn't be relevant to safeguarding - I know any child related incidents will be shown

Sorry but I saw the letter to my acquaintance from police giving details of arrest and stating nfa. I also saw the dbs letter and it did Not show up, it was for a job in education.

Can't say I'd be happy if I was the parent of a scout and found out a helper had been arrested twice for assault.

If they were charged then fair enough but this was just an arrest.

It sounds like the op may now be in a very different place and would like to contribute to their community.

That would show up on an enhanced DBS (if the local police force thought it relevant to the role he was applying to, and were actually doing their job correctly) but not on a basic or standard.

No charges just arrests then nope wont be on there

Absolutely untrue.
An enhanced DBS can show 'any other information' the police hold so it's very likely arrests will be flagged up.

Either the local force did not deem the arrest relevant to the role your friend was applying for or (more likely) they can't be arsed to do their job.
