About to book a city break for my partners 40th.

Never used them before - are they any good?

Ooo I'm interested in answers to this as I'm thinking of booking through them

I’ve booked several holidays and literally never had a single issue and on that basis would usually recommend… however I’ve recently been told they don’t actually sell package holidays ( although it looks like they do) and therefore flights / hotels can change and this can cause issues as it’s not a package deal. So maybe research around that a little.

we however have used them for Majorca, Montenegro, Rhodes etc and it’s been fab

Wouldn't touch them personally. My DD and friends booked their first holiday through them and they were a nightmare to deal with. They messed up transfers, changed flights, charged a fortune to make changes etc etc.

I haven’t used LoveHolidays but we had a shocking experience with OnTheBeach, and they basically operate the same.

For short breaks we book flights with the airline then use booking.com to book hotels that allow last minute cancellations (usually book two places in case one cancels - it happens). You’ve really got no extra protection by using LoveHolidays and are probably paying their fee on top.

This is correct, they are not proper package holidays like you’d get with Jet2 or Tui. If the hotel cancels (or goes bust, gets flooded, whatever) they will put you wherever, not your choice. If the flight gets cancelled last minute you’ve still got the hotel booked. Only worth it if you know you can get there/home by another means.

99% of the time it’ll be fine but when it goes wrong it’s a nightmare. OnTheBeach stung us for hundreds of pounds in 2020.

I wouldn't. They just book the flights and hotel for you, not as a package. So its no difference from doing it yourself. So if the flights change, it can be a hassle to sort out. Better just to book direct flights yourself. Hotels you can book via various websites like booking.com and hotels.com

Never had an issue with them at all

Thanks everyone. Looked at booking separately but it’s coming out a lot more expensive.
