It wasn't my fault, I didn't do nuffin'. Schofe on why he was sacked...

‘Fired for someone else’s crime’ – Phillip Schofield blames brother for ITV exit (msn.com)
(from the Independent via MSN)

He really doesn't get it, does he? He's very sorry for all his lies, but he did nothing wrong. Wake up Schofe. You abused your power on This Morning to have an inappropriate relationship, and reporting your own brother doesn't absolve you of that. Funny that you only made the report when people were sniffing round you.

PS Despite saying he was fired because of his brother, he also maintains that it was him who resigned.

I read he said something about there being other people who've done similar and basically hinted that he could expose some shit.

Typical thing for a whining bully to say when they have been outed - "Well HE/SHE started it!! They did it too!"

I'm curious who the 3 people he singled out as shits are?

One is a coward who never stepped up over queue-gate
One is a coward who never stepped up when he was being battered by a journalist who thought Schofield got them fired when it was them
One is brand-oriented and not the person you think they are.

Answers on a postcard please! Grin

Wondering if it could be Ruth?

Ever curious, I watched some of last night’s show. He really doesn’t come across well and I can’t imagine what he thought he might gain from doing this. He doesn’t seem to have a single redeeming feature.

Is it Alison Hammond?

Much like Prick Andrew, there is a certain type of man that has been so indulged by their family and sycophants for years that they have lost any sense of their real worth.

People appear scared to tell them the truth, so that when it all comes crashing down around them, their natural response is to find others to blame, never themselves.

Me, me, me. True narcissist

Repulsive, self-pitying, whining little man. I certainly don’t want to see or hear anything more of him and I’m sure I’m not alone in this.*

Totally agree. What a shame he didn't take the opportunity to present himself as up to a challenge and show he could be resourceful, humorous and discreet. That would have done him a lot more good and possibly more employable. But I suppose leopards don't change their spots.

Gochestergo717 · 02/10/2024 09:42

If he really understood the seriousness of what he has done, and how badly he has behaved, exploiting a young person for his own gratification and lying continually about it, then he would not be making this film in the first place.

Surely he has enough money by now? He should just go away quietly and not come back. This film just smacks of self-pity and hubris, and his inability to read the room is embarrassing frankly - the film just makes everything worse - and why channel 5 would give him the platform I have no idea!

I never liked him when he was on bbc with the gopher. Something cold and humourless about him

I always thought he was a false, smug, arsehole, and could never understand why people liked him. Never imagined how awful he truly was though!

Cattery · 02/10/2024 10:18

@ChungKing Agree. Something “not nice” about him. That was confirmed for me with Queue-gate. No apology there. He breezed back on This Morning (I’ve not watched that muck since Richard and Judy left) without a care in the world. Smug cunt. Got his comeuppance eventually. Get him off the tv. Must have the hide of a rhino

AllHisCaterpillarFriends · 02/10/2024 10:23

It was all over the radio last week. Him saying 'it wasn't illegal but ill advised' as if this cleared him of everything. Disgusting.

DanielaDressen · 02/10/2024 10:28

I think one of the three shits is probably a producer/editor from This Morning. Possibly more than one of the three is a behind the scenes person.

i saw a clip on tiktok of Eamon on morning tv the other day and he seemed to call Schofield a paedophile which I thought was rather brave/ill advised. Surely he’ll take legal action? But Holmes was definitely talking about under age boys. I know there’s the photo of Scofield and the runner when the runner was a kid and I do believe the runner was groomed but it doesn’t seem very proveable.

DanielaDressen · 02/10/2024 10:31

I also think that Scholfields comment that if the younger person had been female nobody would have batted an eyelid and i actually think he’s very wrong. I think the opposite. I think more people within the industry would have called him out if it had been a female. People hold off not wanting to be deemed homophobic . The whole Me Too movement showed that power difference/age difference relationships aren’t accepted when the other person says they were coerced into it. Schofield is very lucky the runner hasn’t complained

Yes, it's pretty damn obvious he came out as gay when things were going south so he could use it as a shield to hide behind. Just another disgusting aspect of his behaviour to add to the list.

radishess · 02/10/2024 10:38

have watched two episodes and am struck at how fake he seems. I mean, has he been presenting for so long that he can't distinguish his actual real personality from his telly persona?

It's one long drawn out performance, completely lacking in self awareness. The way he painstakingly takes time to select the word to describe what he did as "unwise" when actually the word is "gross, or wrong or disgusting or exploitative."

It's one long drawn out performance.

I suspect the fact that he's had a gentle reception from his daughters and "wife" has helped bolster his own sense of entitlement. He's had therapy and I do wonder if the therapist challenged him enough or just affirmed and validated his poor me mindset.

They've enabled this really, by sticking by him and remaining resolutely united against the world, whilst colluding with the poor Phil, just give Phil a chance mindset.

He's always been like that though, hasn't he?

I can't imagine that he'd stick with a therapist that actually challenged his ego in any meaningful way. I know it's popular to call people out as narcs on here with very little evidence, but it really does seem to be the case with him!

Cattery · 02/10/2024 13:06

Utter wanker. Pure and simple.

Pebbledashing · 06/10/2024 23:25

For anyone else like me who couldn’t bring themselves to watch this, the Gogglebox view of it was priceless.
“His head is full of fridge magnet cliches” = best line ever.
I hope he never darkens our screens again but if he does, I’ll be tuning in to watch only via Gogglebox.

TheVofR · 07/10/2024 02:00

It is not often that I get annoyed about TV personalities, but I actually cannot believe anyone has employed this lying, narcissistic, noncey bastard again. Any other industry and he would have been out on his ear. Needs to be gone ASAP. He can sort his relationship with himself in his own time. I think My5 needs to take a good look at themselves for this, I quite like My5 for it's quirky stuff, but I will be voting out on this, and think they are mad for even entertaining it.

Agree. I didn’t watch the whole 3 hours of Scofield’s excuses and moaning but Gogglebox provided a very nice summary.
