Yes it's warm enough. Not sure about the heating as it just comes on automatically when the temperature drops.

Thelnebriati · 26/09/2024 22:17

No heating here. Its not too chilly yet at 21 degrees, I'm using a heat pad on low on my back.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 26/09/2024 22:18

No heating on here, Edwardian semi with high ceilings, exposed floorboards and fewer walls downstairs than it ought to have, it can be cold but just checked the thermostat and it's 21 and comfortable

justasking111 · 26/09/2024 22:25

Spent two hours in the hairdressers this morning, cut, manicure and pedicure. Did not want to take my shoes and socks off. It was Baltic. The girl brought in a heater which helped a bit.

Then back home in cold car, cold house. Held out until 6pm because hubby said it was hot, lit the log burner then. Took dinner into the sitting room because kitchen was Baltic. Hubby still in a teeshirt. 🙄

23 degrees in my house, no heating, live in central England.

If you're cold it's your body telling you to get up and move around!

Not helpful for people with disabilities or working from home

The warmest our house ever gets is about 16 degrees!

SunshineInMySprocket · 26/09/2024 22:37

We haven’t got the heating on as it says it’s 20.5 inside at the moment. Certainly feels cooler than that so I’ve put an extra layer on.

ConstantlyFuriosa · 26/09/2024 22:39

WhimsicalMoth · 26/09/2024 22:03

To add to that, our bedroom balcony door is open 24/7 even in - temperatures.. so maybe I am just weird

I don’t think you’re weird. Second floor maisonette with massive east and west facing windows. Soul destroying in the summer because it’s like a greenhouse, but cheap in the winter. So the bedroom is currently 21 degrees (no heating on and windows open) and it’s 11 degrees and pissing down outside. I’ve even got my fan on in there.

This isn’t a boast because trust me, from March until the end of September I get the fear.

Ghostyghost · 26/09/2024 22:41

The temp in my house is 23. My heating is off . My house is 2 years old.

littleoldme3 · 26/09/2024 22:42

Freezing here! West coast of Scotland. House is sitting at about 16 degrees. If it was just me I’d have the heating going but DS (4yo) has a bit of eczema and the heating is the worst trigger for it so we hold off using it as much as possible 🥶

XenoBitch · 26/09/2024 22:42

17 here, and I have windows and back door open.

EwwSprouts · 26/09/2024 22:44

Not had the heating on yet but lit first fire of the year this evening. It is pouring down and very windy here. We need better insulation.

NunyaBeeswax · 26/09/2024 22:47

My house is 15c /16c according to my thermometer. I'm warm enough tbh.

Starlightstarbright3 · 26/09/2024 22:49

I have no idea what the temperature is . E have quilt downstairs for the sofa, we have storage heaters so once on they are on

Beezknees · 26/09/2024 22:50

Not sure what temperature mine is at. The heating is set to come on if it drops below 16 degrees and the heating hasn't come on so it must be higher than that. I am not cold.

reallifeboogie · 26/09/2024 22:52

Not got heating on. I'm warm enough.

Heating doesn't go on until December. I put put extra layers on if I get cold.

I live alone though so can't justify it.

Stagsflying · 26/09/2024 22:53

itwasnevermine · 26/09/2024 21:20

Our house average is 13 degrees 😅I live with my parents and they hate to turn the heating on. We have a fire in the living room and that's that.

Not a poor family by any means, they just hate it. My dad is totally against central heating

Just why? That's utterly miserable, I certainly wouldn't have laughing emojis in that situation

Tel12 · 26/09/2024 22:57

It's 22c inside and there's no heating on. Modern house with good insulation, it's been 17c outside and wet. The stat is set to 20c. We're SE so generally warmer. We do have throws for the winter.

TiredOldLady2024 · 26/09/2024 23:03

West of Scotland in a draughty Edwardian semi that’s more like a wind tunnel. Hall thermostat came on at 10 degrees this morning. Struggles up to about 14 on a good day. Duvets and blankets over our knees when sitting still. Sleep under two duvets and a blanket. I wear a hat in bed.

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 26/09/2024 23:06

Ours is about 22° C and is plenty warm enough. We've had the heating on for a bit to dry some clothes.

Changeychang · 26/09/2024 23:08

I've put mine on because my face is cold and it makes me feel miserable. I've decided this year I'm going to have a warm nose! Today I had it on for one hour, which brought 16.5 up to 18. Between 9 and 5, when I'm stuck glued to my desk, 18 degrees is what I'm going for.

zeitweilig · 07/10/2024 09:35

Very chilly here (north Scotland), we've also just had heating updated so are getting to grips with it.

KnottedTwine · 07/10/2024 09:46

We have the thermostat set to 20c and the heating clicks on when needed (although never overnight).

@Mancity08 if you're heating your house to 22c and are still frozen, have you ever had your thyroid levels tested? That was one of the main symptoms for me, I was always cold and spent most autumn/winter literally hugging the radiator.
