Why am I so tired?

Ok so I know that no one here can answer but perhaps some suggestions.

I'm 40, I work part time. I struggle to stay awake for the whole day and regularly have days where I'm so sleepy and low in energy I struggle to do anything. Have 2 children but they are older so not waking me up at night.

I sleep really well, go to sleep by 10.30pm, up at 6.30-7am, sometimes an 8am on the weekend. My diet is fine, I'm not overweight.

I've had full blood tests recently and everything was normal, I take multivitamins too.

I do have a bit of stress due to a hectic schedule outside of work and it's like when I sit down I just want to fall asleep.

Any ideas?

No, but I do the same. If it helps!

Presumably the blood test covered a lot of bases?
Iron
Thyroid
B12

How has it been going on? You couldn't be pregnant could you? 😬

What were the blood tests for, and what were your actual results (I.e. did the surgery just say ‘all fine’ and send you away again?)

Were your iron/thyroid/vitamin D/vitamin B12 levels all in the optimal range? Those are the first things to check.

I've been the same. Recently started running and that's really helped energy levels. Went this morning in the rain, only 8 minutes of actual jogging as it's interval training but physically feel so much.

LoveAutumnwalks · 26/09/2024 17:24

Yes the blood test covered all of those. It covered everything afaik. I've been tested for coeliac too due to IBS. Everything is normal, and I take vitamins too anyway.

Define normal results. Is it that the GP said normal or did you actually check yourself against the lab ranges?

EDIT - can you list the B12, ferritin and folate with lab ranges?

LoveAutumnwalks · 26/09/2024 17:26

I've got all the results on the NHS app so I can see all the levels and everything is fine.

I had full bloods and an ECG because of heart palpitations. The palpitations have stopped now anyway and bloods were fine.

Honestly I've been tested for everything.
