I’ve learned so much thanks to MNers

Btw is learnt or learned in the UK more appropriate? I was raised outside of the UK so I often get these things wrong (I live in the UK now).

I have ASD and social anxiety and struggle with friendships. My mother passed away and I don’t have female companions to learn from. But thanks to MNers I’ve learned about the various ways perimenopause can present and how I’m very likely in it, so I made a GP appointment. I learned about insulin resistance and other health problems that have helped me to get a grip with my health and take better care of myself. And just lots and lots of little things as well.

I know there have been threads about MN being toxic but I have found so many helpful posters and support for different people. It’s really quite a community.

I’ve learnt the term cocklodger, weaponised incompetence and Disney dad both brilliant ways to explain STBEXH and why is is soon to be ex. Before being part of the MN community I could never articulate what bugged me about money with him. Once I heard and understood the term it became clear exactly what kind of “man” he is

I learned about fixing utility bills on here at a brilliant time and will be forever grateful. Probably loads of other things too.

I've learnt that that's some very hostile people on here, when it's meant to be a female forward forum. Searching through the ops previous threads to score a cheap point, lots people who look down on others and mock their choices in life. That plenty can't read something if they don't agree with it, will twist things to their own narrative. That spelling & grammar are more important than the point that is trying to be . That you can spout nonsense whether legally or factually correct as long as you include "everyone knows it" or "fact"
Trying to think of practical or useful information I've learnt but so far struggling

I've learned that there's a little arrow beside the petrol pump symbol on the car's dashboard telling you which side the petrol flap is. (Focusing on the important issues here.)
