Is it easy to install a new washing machine

I need a new washing machine. Delivery fee is 20 and installation fee is 40 and I am thinking of cutting corners. I am not a stranger to turning off the cold water. I am wondering if it's hard to take out the old machine for taking away and for installing the new machine.

Thanks

Yes extremely easy I would never pay anyone I do them all myself. YouTube will have some videos

Does the installation fee include disposal of old machine?

They are reasonably easy to install but are heavy

Yes, easy but they are indeed heavy!

Yeh it’s easy. I did it myself a couple of months ago. Plumb it in connect the waste pipe and there’s some connectors to take off the back before you use it and away you go x

I've always found it easy.

Undo the stabilisation bolts, connect the cold fill pipe and tighten with a monkey wrench. Position the waste water pipe. Check it's level with a spirit level, then plug it in and switch it on. It takes about 5 minutes.

Make sure the supplier takes the old machine away.

Easy to do if you've got the strength and the space to manoeuvre. Getting it in a small space with little gap to the worktop was hell on earth.

Extremely easy if it's slotting into the place that the old machine went.

Make sure they deliver it fairly near to where you want it to go as yes, they literally have a huge block of concrete inside them to stop them dancing all over the room during a spin cycle so are very, very heavy.

Read the instructions all the way through first and remember to REMOVE THE TRANSIT BOLTS 😁

Otherwise, it's just connecting two pipes, one to put water in (which you should have from your old machine, but one will be included if you didn't leave it connected to your water supply) and one to put water out (which will already be connected to the new machine).

It is easy. I would go so far as to say that as long as you have the use of your fingers and thumbs you will find it straightforward.

It’s probably worth checking if your council offer a domestic bulky waste collection, and what the charge is.

Pull out the existing machine and check what you are dealing with.
Hopefully there are little taps on the pipes to turn off the water supply. Then you can unscrew the connector(s). Have a bucket or bowl handy for the water that will drain out of the flexible hoses. Unscrew these from the machine as you may need to re-use them.

Then investigate the waste - could be the waste hose just pops into the plastic upstand waste pipe. Just pull it out.

Reverse the process to fix up the new machine.

Anything more complex would be a sign to leave it to the professionals.
