Motspur Park station

Bit of a random one - ds needs to travel next week with a change at Motspur park. He will ve coming from Leatherhead then changing for chessington. Can any locals tell me if the platform change involves going over/under, or if it is just a case of getting off and the platform heading south is right there.

He's not bad at trains but can get confused with platforms so if I can tell him.what to expect, he will manage.

If you look the train journey up on trainline it usually shows the platform numbers. Then national rail enquiries has a page for each station that describes the layout and accessibility. I used it a lot when travelling by train with babies to avoid stairs/lifts.

The station is all one level so you can see both directions from the same platform, there were building works going on a few months ago- not sure if that’s all finished up yet- but it’s a very small station with just one level.

It's a single platform station. One side goes north into London and one side south towards either Chessington or Epsom. So he can't go wrong as long as he waits for a Chessington train to come in.

As above, it's a single level platform - northbound to London (the way the Leatherhead train will be heading) and southbound to the suburbs (ie Chessington, Dorking etc). Chessington is the end of the line (North or South?) so he just needs to walk to the other platform and look for the Chessington sign on the front of the train. I'm pretty certain that all platforms on that line have LED signs stating the 3 next trains due so if he keeps an eye on that he will know which train to get on. It's 2 stops to Chessington North (Malden Manor and Tolworth), Chessington South is the stop after Chessington North and the end of the line.

Thank you all. Yes, once he Is in the right place he is good at figuring out which train to get on by looking at the board so I am not worried about that. Being ableto tell him.he just has to move to.the other side is great. I like the description of being able to see trains in both directions.

He's not quite 14 so quite young and has adHd. usually something like this we would do With him first time but that's not an option this time. He also has been kknown to video call me so I can help him.figure out signage but I will be with a client.

He's quite.confident asking for help too but it will be rush hour and I figure people might be charging around and less inclined to be helpful

I honestly hadn't even considered you tube! It felt like such a minor unimportant place. God, I love the Internet!!!
