DH and I going to watch a film tonight, but don’t know what to watch!
what’s a great film I might not have seen?
I don’t like Game of Thrones type stuff.
I loved the Fall Guy.
I love old films.
Any suggestions?

Ooh, yeah - that’s a good one, too!

@RightSedFred I definitely second 'The Dish" it's one of those delightful feel good movies.

Gosh, so many choices! You lot are fab.
i, of course, did what i usually do…fell asleep in a dribbly mess on the sofa…and could t find my phone.😳
Watched the ‘Big Fight’-hate boxing- with DH.
But loads of options for next time I’m free.
I’ve seen a few suggestions, Hacksaw Ridge, amazing. Operation Mincemeat.
Have never seen In Bruges but DH has, my 84yr old mothers fav film, 😂.
I saw that they may face the rising sun recently with her, she loved it. I thought the acting was fab, what a cast! But was bored to tears.
Really like the sound of some of the suggestions, thank you all so much. It’s great to have them!
Bed now, working another massive shift tomorrow…

In Bruges is great!

I get the Sunday Times for the Culture pages which recommends tv progs and films -- at the moment I have about 6 films recorded mostly from Film 4 and TPTV which I'm trying to find time to watch. I'm sure there are other TV mags which would do that.

I liked the fall guy too, I always wonder about ncps in games. I suppose the new (not 90s) Jumanji films have an element of that. I was surprised by finding (especially the first of the new ones) pretty funny.

Recently re-watched don't look up, I absolutely love it, great writing and actors.

I like the light heartedness and cheering feeling of the spy film Argylle. Seems to match the tone of Fall guy in my mind. Great Saturday night film.

Old film, but still me of my favourites, thriller -night of the hunter. Eerie, beautiful, Robert Mitchum being v creepy, amazing music.

Hope it was a good Saturday night! We watched the big short and I loved it.

If you liked Operation Mincemeat you might like The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

The Admirable Crichton (1957, people shipwrecked on a desert island)

Local Hero (1983, comedy drama set in Scotland - you will recognise the brilliant soundtrack by Mark Knopfler)

The Dish (2000, the Moon Landing from an Australian perspective)

Local Hero is one of my favourite films. I watch it at least once a year - so feel good and funny.

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe? Absolutely brilliant film. Kathy Bates is wonderful in it.

Mississippi Masala - no idea where you'd find it, though.
