Got an email for Next Sale - how do I know it's genuine?

I bought my first ever item at Next about a month ago, so not the high spender I've seen others talking about on here when discussing the pre-Sale invites.😆
So how do I know that the email is genuine?
How should it work? It says I'll get another email once my timeslot has opened.
The email it's from is [email protected]

Would like to take advantage if it is real but I'm not sure they would target someone with a spend of £36 over the 35 years or so that I've been buying my own clothes!

I've had a text like that and it's flagged as spam on my phone. The e before the next in that email address is very dodgy.

If you have a next account go onto the next website and log in and see if there's anything there about the next sale.

ToriTheStoryteller · 17/09/2024 22:13

Hmmm. I wasn't sure about that either. I don't have an account as have only checked out as a guest the one time I ordered something online (then I returned that in store and bought something at the same time!)

The invitation links only go to account holders so if you aren't an account holder, ignore it.
@e.next.co.uk will be scammers attempting to imitate @next.co.uk

That's the same email address as on my book a sale slot email. I can't guarantee it but sounds genuine to me! 🤷🏻‍♀️

TokyoSushi · 17/09/2024 22:18

Oh I have one, also with an e, I did wonder as I've never had one before!

Redglitter · 17/09/2024 22:21

Log into your account. If it's genuine there'll be an option to select your slot. You'll get a reminder when your slot starts.

If in doubt go via the app or website don't click on links

ToriTheStoryteller · 17/09/2024 22:22

Mixed responses then! I had a look at the other thread running about it and based on others' shopping habits and the timeslots/wording they are talking about, I'm going to delete it.

I wasn't looking to buy anything so no loss!

Looks dodgy to me. The domain doesn’t seem to work with the e so I’d steer clear.

I don't have an account.....I think that's what's tipped the balance on scam vs genuine.

My VIP slot email has the same originator email address and I usually get an invitation to the sale

It will be genuine @ToriTheStoryteller they pick at random I've got one too and don't shop their loads anymore x

ToriTheStoryteller · 17/09/2024 22:34

My email looks different to dementedpixie's bit my phone won't let me paste it!

Can't be bothered to chance it but thanks for everyone trying to help.😊

Have you pressed on the sender name to check that it’s actually come from that address, and it’s not spoofing the legitimate one?

No account….no invite

PassMeTheCookies · 17/09/2024 22:41

The email address is the same as the one I've received (many times) and booked my slot with.

You don't need to click on the email. Just log into your account and it'll have the banner asking if you want to book a slot.

Domain is next.co.uk
Subdomain is e.
It's genuine as only the owner of a domain can set up a subdomain that uses their domain name.
if it didn't have the first "." before the next.co.uk say enext.co.uk, that would be spammy/dodgy
