What's it like to not worry?

I'm the biggest worrier in the world. I worry all the time about absolutely everything. If I'm not worrying, I'm worrying about not worrying. I overthink and analyse every single thought in my head. I beat myself up every single day. It's so exhausting. It's so much worse after drinking alcohol too so I'm trying to cut back. I have terrible stomach issues, which I'm convinced would settle if I just chilled out a bit sometimes.

If you are not a worrier, how do you not worry? HOW?

*OverthinkingOlive *this actually sounds to me like you could help your worrying by working on gut health especially given the stomach issues suggests a link too. Try looking up the link between worrying/ anxiety and the gut as it's known as the second brain and can really impact brain behaviour .
our DS had really chronic worrying which vanished slowly but completely on a healthy low sugar diet with good probiotics thrown in.

I'm a worrier. I agree with the poster who said it's almost superstitious. The things you worry about never happen so you should worry about everything that could possibly happen to your child as a precautionary measure. I know it's ridiculous.
I'm definitely worrying less as I get older. I barely drink alcohol, but I know that if I was drinking regularly I'd have 'the fear' because I used to get it when I was a regular drinker in my youth.

Nothing worries me. I had a hip replacement 5 weeks ago and at the pre op the nurse commented on how relaxed I was.
I have a busy life, though I am retired. So I don't have hours of time to worry in.
I'm a problem solver so faced with a problem I invest in finding practical solutions
I'm an optimist so I don't even see things that are worrying other people.

I used to worry about most things. But then when my Mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer at 66 and it wasn't something I even thought about. Worrying seemed such a waste of time. I still do it now, but not to such an extent.

I think keeping yourself occupied helps.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Being stuck inside our own minds can be so upsetting x

I am not a worrier. I don’t think I have much control over it. I think it’s just the way my brain works. I don’t overthink things. Naturally have a positive outlook and try to see positives in things. This all seems to happen naturally rather then and great effort on my part. Just pure luck I think.

I overcame it. Just learnt how to cast out the worries and all their scenarios. It is about faith and as some people say, positivity will help you rather destroy you, but negativity will sicken you, make you scared, unable to laugh, to go out....etc

make a good healthy mind choice today

Can you do anything to change what you are worried about? If yes then do that else let it go.

It comes with practice and is a learned skill. You can apply it to 'what's the worst that could happen and is it likely?'
