How much would you advise to take as spends? 2 Adults, young teen, preteen and toddler?
Not doing Disney, Universal tickets bought. Tickets for SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Aquatica include 1 day free dining each and free parking. 10days in a hotel with breakfast included.
Is 100pp/day reasonable? (excluding the toddler as she will be sharing food and only really drinks water).

I'd be surprised if you could spend £400/$400 a day on with breakfast already covered, unless you're planning to spend a lot of merchandise/alcohol.

I mean you can make it expensive if you want eg. at Universal the 4 of you could opt for refillable cups at $18 plus tax each, but you could take water bottles and fill them up from the same machines with free ice and free water. Snacks can be pricey but if you have breakfast, you will probably make it through most of the day without needing much else.

Evening meals (outside of parks) were in the region of $100-$120 for 2 adults, 2 children. And we had plenty of leftovers too.

We've just returned from 10 days & averaged $100 a day for food & drink between the 2 adults & one teen.

We were too shattered some days to eat out in the evening, so a few Uber eats at $30 - $40 for 3 of us.

We generally ate one meal a day. There were croissants / breakfast options in our hotel (Dockside) & doughnuts / ice creams to snack on in the parks - they're all huge, even the pint sized coffee feels like a meal.

We ate at ihop, 3 meals, 3 drinks was $60. Olive garden was $70 total, with unlimited salad. Millers was $100 and we all had steaks, puddings & beer for the adults.

Think Cici's do a $5 pizza buffet.

Walgreens / Walmart great for water & snacks, much cheaper than in the parks. Anything outside the parks is much cheaper, but we thought voodoo doughnut was reasonable & really filling.

If you're not eating in city walk twice a day you'll be fine. We had too many frozen butterbeers, pizza in the marvel cafe (one slice is huge), Cinnabon, lemon slushies.

We took £5k, and spent £2k. Granted DH had the odd beer but we didn't drink most days. And spent $300 on merch & bits from the universal store, plus a day at the mall.

Ubers cheap for getting around.

Longboard pizza at Volcano bay can be shared. Plus free refills are plenty.

We were first timers and it was fantastic, and all of the financial anxiety soon disappeared when we got our heads around the place. It really isn't as extortionate as they say. I hope you enjoy it x

Amazing thank you! I’ve never been before and I’m so nervous

do you mean take actual physical money? Or a general budget?

we didn’t worry too much. Took a credit card with no fee, little bit of cash for tips.

you’ve got to eat. Portions can be huge so don’t feel bad about sharing meals, or taking leftovers, or just ordering starters.

the outlets are great value so you may need to factor that.

get the family feast at the three broomsticks (or is it the leaky cauldron? One of them) though- $70 and will feed all of you. Best meal we had for everyone, and there were vegetables! Something for everyone.

oh and the best tip I have if you can afford it is book a night in the hard rock or one of the other two hotels that get you fast passes. Rock up at 7am, drop your bags, get your passes, back at lunchtime for a swim and explore, back to the park for the evening, same the next day.

have you bought tickets for Busch gardens/aquatica? Honestly I wouldn’t bother. They’re quite tired and not a patch on universal.
