Possible seizure - baby

Hi all
i was away this weekend with my lg (6 months). She started rolled her eyes back so we could just see the white of eyes - at first I put it down to brightness outside but the following day she did it a few more times over the day. I rang 111 but they didn’t seem to concerned and to make an appointment with our local gp Monday.

has anyone been through this? I’m out of my mind with worry

If you can't get to see GP first thing I would go to A&E. I am not sure it's useful people talking about their own experiences as there are so many things it could be. I would be seeking medical advice ASAP though to ensure it is nothing serious, I am surprised 111 said to wait and speak to GP, if you are not happy with their advice then just go to A&E anyway.

Aw, that must be really stressful for you, if it was really serious then I think they would have done tests immediately though so hopefully that is a good sign. I have experienced both and when it was not serious they basically did what they have done with you, when it was then they did not let the DC out until they knew what was wrong (2 separate DC) x

If you can, film the seizure so that the GP or Paediatrician can see what happens.

BethJ93 · 16/09/2024 20:40

@PandyMoanyMum I managed to get it on video this eve so will keep that for when we get to see a neurologist

@MangoRose yeah it is, I’m first time mum and just worry terrible, i haven’t slept. Yeah that’s what my mum said if they was really worried they’d have sent us straight to hospital, how are your little ones doing? X

It was many years ago now but my DS had a high temp/chest infection and that is what caused it so he recovered fully. It was my best friends DC, they had more serious seizures but the hospital kept them in till they had sorted the correct medication, they took it very seriously immediately. They could tell by checking his eyes that there was something more serious going on so whilst I can't obviously know all is ok I would say its a good sign esp if there are no other symptoms at all.

I was posting to say film it and if there's any shaking or lasts more than a minute go to a&e. Do check temperature as this can be a cause.

My dc had seizures so very aware of how concerning it is

BethJ93 · 16/09/2024 22:10

@mitogoshigg yeah I have now , it’s not the best as they are so out the blue & sudden but it’s something .

Thank you! Only thing is she has a cold but not sure if that would link, how is your dc doing? Do they happen often
