Was going to get one on Amazon but they’re not going to come in time, has anyone seen them in the shops?
Suppose I could google but genuinely thought of MN first 😂

Haha @NashvilleQueen i appreciate the effort!
@Teacloth our argos closed, I don’t know when, and now the nearest thing we have is a counter in a Sainsburys not very close.
@SunMootStars there is definitely a primark in the nearest city, but dunelm is closer so I’ll give that a go but it’s excellent to have more suggestions, thanks.

Dunelm, comes with a teddy fleece cover

fill it up with kettle and mine is hot all night, a god send in winter!

I also freeze it in the summer when it’s super hot 😂

kwetu · 13/09/2024 22:33

Got mine from Aldi & love it

OrangeJeans · 13/09/2024 22:33

I got rid of mine, I also found it tricky to fill and get the air out of. I prefer the normal shape.

Thistooshallpass24 · 13/09/2024 22:34

I've just seen you can get rechargeable ones ( modern hot water bottle)

Wondergoldenlight · 13/09/2024 22:34

I have one I’m about to throw out. Are you local?

planAplanB · 13/09/2024 22:47

Got mine from a garden centre.

KerryBlues · 13/09/2024 22:49

Matalan have them.

TheChosenTwo · 14/09/2024 15:10

Okay I’ve been to my local garden centre, dunelm, Boots, Homesense and TK Maxx - all of them said that it’s too early which I found hard to swallow with the amount of christmas crap in the shops 😂
so if anyone is on the Surrey/Hants border and is getting rid of theirs please PM me!!

I was in B&M today and they had stacks of them.
Not much use though if you don’t have one near by.

TheChosenTwo · 14/09/2024 16:40

We don’t @BiscuitlyBoyle but dd2 had just informed me that we have a home bargains about 10 miles away, just weighing up whether or not I can be fucked to do a 20 mile round trip for one after being out for hours already today with no joy!

primark had some this week

Sethera · 14/09/2024 17:21

They always seem to have them at motorway service stations, if you happen to be driving past one.

TheFormidableMrsC · 14/09/2024 17:29

Home Bargains and B&M have them. Well ours do at least!

TeaAndStrumpets · 14/09/2024 17:35

I have one and can easily fill it from the kettle. I got it for my stiff neck but actually it feels bulky and heavy. Sorry, maybe it will work OK for you!

Seagullproofoldbag · 14/09/2024 17:44

I bought one for DS last year at B&M. It has a soft furry cover and he loves it. Stays warm all night, it's still warm when I empty it in the morning. Easy to fill from a kettle, and I lay it gently on the work top ( holding the top up slightly) to get the air out.

TheChosenTwo · 14/09/2024 18:29

Okay I’m now home from Home Bargains where a lovely chap went out the back and got me one from the stock that’s not due out until Monday! What a kind person!
im testing it out now on the sofa to see if it’s still hot in an hours time…

It’s just loaded all the comments between my last 2 posts. @TeaAndStrumpets it was too bulky when I filled it all the way up with 2 kettles worth but I let out about a third of the water and it’s way more flexible now. I really just need a hint of warmth for when I get out of the water, even if I just cuddle it for 5 minutes it will be a welcome feeling!
It was very easy to fill from the kettle, I warmed it before properly filling it so hopefully it will still be toasty in a bit.

I got one and hated it.

magnoliaagain · 14/09/2024 18:41

I used it for puppies

magicstar1 · 14/09/2024 18:51

I got DH one two years ago for when he’s camping and he loves it….stays hot for hours. It has a furry cover on it so that might help.

I was cold a couple of nights ago and he lent it to me. It was roasting at eleven o’clock and still warm at six the next morning. I’ve ordered myself one with pockets for my hands too.

PandaWorld · 14/09/2024 18:52

If you have any garden centres near you then try there x

TheChosenTwo · 14/09/2024 19:36

It’s still hot an hour later but I suppose the true test will be tomorrow when it’s outside, I’ll keep it wrapped up with my clothes so fingers crossed it will retain some heat!
I don’t like hot water bottles in general, we have a really warm house and the heating is on lots, it’s underfloor heating so I’m used to having warm feet all the time but hot water bottles in general seem a bit awkward, where do you put them?! Down your jumper?

@TheChosenTwo when I did antenatal classes, the woman suggested getting a cheap drawstring rucksack (like you would put a child’s PE kit in) and putting a hot water bottle in that so it could dangle over your lower back. Can’t hurt to try if you have a normal hot water bottle and a suitably thin bag kicking around.
