Hearing Aid for elderly mum - advice please

My DM has finally decided to have a hearing test. She has hearing aids already but does not use them. She says that they don’t make any difference, doesn’t need them and with limited mobility in her arms and shoulders, can’t put them in and out. I have been asked to help her sort this out. She needs a good audiologist, good advice, good aftercare and a reasonable price.
I need this to work and be as straightforward as possible or she will change her mind.
Any advice would SO gratefully received!

My mum had her hearing aids fitted at the hospital, the audiologist explained very clearly that if they are worn consistently then the brain has the best chance of adapting so that it relearns the higher pitched registers which are the first to deteriorate. So she may not experience instant benefits but in the long term it will help.

My dad is elderly and has had hearing aids for years. At first he hated them and found them a faff- NHS ones with moulded chunky ear pieces he just didn't get on with and also as they were cheap they weren't strong enough to accommodate his severe hearing loss so he didn't wear them.
We then tried Scrivens but he had nothing but issues with them the cheapest option ones they offered. The hearing aids were then discontinued so he couldn't get them serviced or fixed.
I looked and did a lot of research with Boots. They've been fantastic. Very thorough hearing test, finding the best hearing aids to suit my dad, small moulded ear piece that's hardly visible and sits well in his ears. Any issues he can go in whenever he needs to without an appointment and they will see him. Can't fault them. He wears them on waking until he goes to bed no issues. Due to the severity of his hearing loss 90% he had to go with ones that were quite expensive but they have so many options and a great price range I would highly recommend trying them.
NHS wait lists in our area are up to 3yrs so we gave up on that during COVID as the list only got longer and my dad not being able to hear was awful.

Thank you for your replies. I’ve booked an appt with the audiologist at Boots - it lasts up to 75 mins so sounds quite comprehensive and just what she needs.
Your replies have been very useful. Thank you. X
