Visiting a “bad” ancestral home, would you?

I am American and my forefathers lived in the deep south. My 4x great grandfather sold up his farm and moved northwest.

I’d love to visit this farm because my ancestors lived there since 1690 before leaving in around 1810. However, whilst it wasn’t a huge farm (300 acres), my ancestors enslaved around 100-200 people on the farm.

With this knowledge, would you still visit?

Yes, it wasn’t your fault and you’re acknowledging how bad it was.

Yes, it was over two hundred years ago.

If you would love to visit. As you say. Go for it. I'm not really sure what the current owners view might be? What are the public access rules where it is

If it's actually visitable, why not?

I think it depends. How is it set up? Is it a tourist place which glorifies the good old days of white supremacy and slavery? Or that doesn’t even acknowledge it? Or is it somewhere which openly acknowledges how bad it was and takes steps towards reconciliation?
Or is it a private home and if so what is the attitude of the owners?
