Mouth guard for rugby recommendations

Anyone know if I get a child or adult one for a year 8 child? I've bought so many and don't seem to have had a decent one yet that fits and stays in. It's starting again at school soon and the one I got last year is too small (and also missing ). Is there a better one or should we ask the dentist for a custom one? Or is there a knack to moulding ? We've followed instructions on the one we got from Amazon but it just falls out

A dentist made one will fit the best , but if they still have adult teeth coming through , or have braces I often recommend a “boil in the bag “ type. Opro do the best sports mouthguards and do them in age sizes https://www.opro.com/sports-mouth-guards/shop-by-sport/rugby-mouthguards.html

A dentist made one will cost £75 ish but will be a much better fit but more painful if child loses it or grows out of it quickly.

Oh that's brilliant thank you. I had the option of 8+ or adult on the ones I was looking at and with no recommendations I went down rabbit holes of ones with teeth on, flavoured ones. All sorts !
