I can't stop eating ice poles /lollys . I'm eating 6-8 a day for about 2 months. I don't even know why.

You need to see a doctor and gets bloods done - craving ice can be a sign of anaemia!

MarshmallowsOnToast · 08/09/2024 14:16

Are you possibly pregnant?

Heard of ice cravings before.

Beginningless · 08/09/2024 14:16

In pregnancy it’s a sign of low iron isn’t it?

Anemia?

MercurialMargot · 08/09/2024 14:17

GP appointment and bloods would be sensible

A quick Google suggests it can be a sign of nutrient deficiency?

JumpinJellyfish · 08/09/2024 14:18

Had this when I was pregnant - I had really low ferritin. Get a full iron profile
done inc ferritin (not just haemoglobin).

Shiversice · 08/09/2024 14:19

Not pregnant.

I do have problems with iron . I never knew it could be linked with ice

I used to crunch on ice all day and was severely anaemic. Normal reading should be 11, mines was 3. I would go and her checked asap.

Just email OP and ask for your blood results

Fraaahnces · 08/09/2024 14:30

Pagophagia is often associated with anaemia. Please see your GP.

Shiningout · 08/09/2024 14:37

I did this when pregnant used to eat cup fulls

Slavetomycat · 08/09/2024 14:40

I had this (pica) and turned out I was severely anemic, due to fibroids and very heavy periods. It was amazing how fast it went once I got my iron up. Please check it out!
