Has anyone tried Dermatica?

Overheard a lady sitting next to me at the hairdressers talking about Dermatica and saying great things about its products & her monthly subscription. Has anyone here tried Dermatica? Trust Pilot has some good reviews.

I haven't tried dermatica but I've been using skin and me for years and I think it's pretty much the same thing. Prescription grade skincare, specifically tretinoin for most people.

Honestly, it has given me new skin! I used to suffer badly with spots and my skin just generally looked dull. I now get 1 or 2 spots before my period every few months and my skin is glowy and healthy looking. Wouldn't be without it. All hail tretinoin 🙌🤣

I used it for nine months but it just didn’t really agree with my very dry, very sensitive skin even at a low dose so I went back to buying normal retinol and it’s worked wonders. That said, their customer service was brilliant and I’d definitely not hesitate to use them again in the future if it wasn’t for my sensitive skin!

I've used Dermatica for about 4 years. There are lots of us on the Style and Beauty boards who like it. Always been happy. My skin is really excellent and there is nothing I would change. It's always worth trying. It's easy to cancel if you're not a fan. Just make sure you have a moisturiser and an Spf.

Yes, I have. I picked up information many moons ago - all from MN.

I used a code and started a trial with a discount, and have stayed with them.

My skin is so much clearer. I had large pores on my nose and quite a dry, lined texture. My skin looks bright and healthy.

The real positive is the prescription. Before that I was spending loads on trial and error. Too many different cream, too many changes. Lots of half used pots!

The prescription is by photo, updated regularly. The prescription gradually alters the strength of the cream. The cream arrives each month, but so easy to delay. I think I use 9 months worth over a year.
I only buy basic face wash, a moisturiser with sun screen (Superdug) and a factor 50 sunscreen.

Dernatica have always responded to questions and made adjustments accordingly.

Please ask if you want more specific answers. I can try!

Try personalised skincare for just £2.90, plus £10 off your next month.

I use skin+Me which is basically the same. I get on really well with it, the dosage of Tretinoin goes up really gradually so your skin gets used to it. I will say that you shouldn't get too keen to up the percentage and higher isn't always better. I read an article about how using 0.025 will have the same long term effect as 0.05% it will just rake longer to get that result. I got to 0.03 and my skin got really irritated and flaky so I had my prescription lower to 0.027 and then again to 0.024 and I've stick with that.
Heres a code to a month free just £3.50 p&p if anyone wants to try

I did for six months but it didn't like my skin at all.

Did you go back to Dermatica and have it adjusted. Did they not make adjustments from when you regularly share your photos with them?

My prescriptions have been adjusted or I have been advised to use less, wit longer between application, etc, until it is perfect.

redgum · 08/09/2024 09:23

Yes I've just switched to Dermatica for a trial, they gave me a much higher prescription of tret vs skin and me so will likely stick with them.

SachaLane · 24/09/2024 13:29

I am checking in to see how this is going for everyone.

I am impressed with Dermatica who have reviewed my latest photos and asked questions about a rather ‘lovely’ spot and a wrinkle or too. Questions only about ‘is this usual?, how often do you have any blemishes?

They have adjusted the next prescription though to meet my needs.

rachaelahoydesigns · 19/02/2025 16:42

I've been using Dermatica for years and love it. The tret got rid of my terrible forehead melasma. Moved on to their vitamin c and SPF now. Would recommend.

SachaLane · 19/02/2025 18:39

Still going really well for me. Dermatica have increased the strength of the ingredients in the creams.

I have a clear glow. My skin feels as if it sheds easily, not sore at all just kind of ‘new’.

SachaLane · 01/04/2025 09:41

Another update!

I've just had another online consultation with a dermatologist at Dermatica. Sent more photos and some written information about my skin. Really helpful service including questions about anything else I use on my skin ( I don't - except a basic cleanser and miosturise and, of course, sunscreen)

New prescription is an increased strength tretonion (0.05) combined with Niacinamide* *4% Lotion.

The dose has been adjusted to apply three times a week, to be increased as my skin gets used to the new dose.

I've been using this new dose for two weeks.

My skin is clear and bright. An initial small, red spot or two, I think as my skin cleared. There is a really pleasing kind of peeling of my skin ( nothing freakish, just feels fab) when I shower, leaving my skin really fresh.

I hope this helps.

I dont have spots or blemishes - only wrinkles is tret for me? I am 58.

Nevertrustacop · 23/04/2025 09:30

Yes I use and like Dermatica. My prescription is mainly tret. I have to pause it quite often though as I don't get through it quickly enough.

The initial consultation, where you send photos, includes you letting them know what you want to address.

The prescription personalised to you, will meet these needs. So if you say ‘wrinkles’ as opposed to say ‘redness’ they will prescribe accordingly.

My last consultation ( message and photos) they were also very straight forward in advising if there was an issue they couldn't address.

I would say my skin is clearer, healthier and plumper, so wrinkles are less.

Livpool · 23/04/2025 10:22

I use it for Tret and happy with how my skin has been

nadine90 · 23/04/2025 10:30

I liked skin+me, dermatica didn’t agree with me. My skin went bright red and dry as sandpaper after 3 days. Someone said to just mix a bit in with the moisturiser and use eod but I was too scared to try again after that. Lots of positive reviews online though, hope it works ok for you

Purplecatshopaholic · 23/04/2025 10:32

Yes, used Dermatica for years. Great products, great service. Would recommend.

SachaLane · 30/03/2026 09:08

Another update as I can see this post has been linked in another thread this morning.

Still going with this. My skin is great, very clear again. I had a time where it was really poor, with stress related acne (I wanted to hide, my esteem and confidence so damaged) . Dermatica changed my prescription when I sent my photos and within two weeks it had cleared.

I’m back to my tret prescription. This is a low dose that is being carefully increased. I can make this last 6 weeks or more and the monthly subscription is simple to delay.

I no longer wear foundation, sometimes just a tinted moisturiser/bb creams with factor 50 contained.
All good for me.
