Gruantour issues

Hello I have a big question. So I have been struggling to find a gruantour, which I can understand as people are having hard times at the moment.
I will be renting with my partner and his friend. They have both passed their checks and are completely fine.
I was wondering if it is possible for one of them to be my gruantour?
I can't find anything online that says otherwise. Their names will be on the tenancy.
Would this be allowed?

No I don't think they can be your guarantor if they're renting with you but give the estate agent a call to double check.

I think that the guarantor usually has to be a home owner, possibly not in all cases but Ive been asked for a guarantor and they specified home owner

If your saying your flatmate will be the guarantor, I'm not sure if that's allowed. If they are willing you can always ask the EA. It depends on the financial solvency/viability of the guarantor. So they'd need a credit check. But essentially it would be unlikely they'd look like they could comfortably pay double rent. Surely if that was the case they wouldn't need to live in a three person flat share. But it's worth asking.

No, they have to be a home owner and it’s taken seriously, I remember they even asked for my sister’s car reg once!

However, professional guarantor services exist. They probably cost a fortune and come with risks.
