DD heading to uni next week, I've bought all the kitchen bits and pieces I think she'll need and things for her room. Anyone got any "must haves" or "wish I'd known" purchases??
Someone mentioned a mattress topper to me yesterday which I thought might be a good idea.
Thank you

Sink plunger for when someone blocks the sink with vomit on the first weekend there.

If you have one, an old mobile phone as a spare in case they get mugged. We also wrote down everyone's phone numbers on a scrap of paper as it's amazing how they can't remember your parent's mobile numbers if your phone gets nicked! Also, more than one easy access bank account even if there's just a tenner in it for spare.

Lots of stuff can be bought "as needed" but from experience, these are the "emergency" ones that when you need them, you need them asap!

If they're living in Halls, your home contents cover may cover their belongings, but if not (or they're in rentals) they'll need contents insurance cover.
