Well, it wouldn't be for me (imagine the dusting?!), but good on them for making their house just as they like it. They'll have to accept that if another Disney fan doesn't buy it then the buyer will consider how much it's going to cost them to redecorate before offering!

InfradeadToUltraviolent · 06/09/2024 10:12

I like it. Well, not "like" it, but I like that it made the owners happy and they followed their hearts. If I ended up buying it it would break my heart to paint over it, but I absolutely would. I'd keep the mural in the back yard though, and maybe some of the kitchen stuff until I replaced it.

mybraindoesntwork · 06/09/2024 10:19

Haha - I like the way the agent has just decided to roll with it 😂

All i can see is clutter way to much stuff.
The art work is nice.

rainbow1902 · 06/09/2024 10:23

I like it its nice to see something different other than grays.
Just might put me an offer down.

housethatbuiltme · 06/09/2024 11:20

A perfect home away from work for all the ride missing Carnies.

They can look at the wall and instantly think of all the good times kids puked on them on their beloved Waltzer.

Compash · 06/09/2024 11:20

It's giving me Disney spells... they need to live in the Rhyl world... 😁

justasking111 · 06/09/2024 11:26

They did do it all themselves according to the daily post, not just decor but practical jobs that needed doing. Just wish they'd gone for the little mermaid in the bathroom 😀

TBH it’s nice to see someone actually just making their house a bit eccentric because they enjoy it.

vs the often soulless grey monstrosities with zero personalities you see everywhere.

At least this has a bit of personality!

I wonder if the owner painted it themselves.

Personality is all well and good when you are living there. Fill your boots.

But when you are selling a property, you have to recognise that the number of people who share your very individual decorating style, and who want to buy a 3 bed in Rhyl is very small indeed. If you do not share the previous owner's taste, it's a lot to put right. Not just walls, but ceilings, woodwork, kitchen... lots of time and money.

By comparison with an all black kitchen, or terrible carpets or mould all over the grout, it's a cheap and easy fix which can be DIY if you're able bodied. Yes the gloss work will take longer but once you've put ten gallons of Homebase white emulsion on the walls you can comfortably live with pink skirting boards for ages: it's not an urgent fix.

I love that someone has had the time and imagination to make their home unique to them. Also the courage to stand out, and express their true authentic self's. I'm so TIRED of grey and beige, it's enough to make you consider going full Disney!

I'm sure the new owners will have a similar thought as they are painting over the "art".... how many coats of paint will that take? It's certainly isn't enough to go even a tiny bit Disney.

I love how the estate agent has really leaned into the theme with their description 😂

Agree, really good description by the EA.

SausageRoll2020 · 06/09/2024 12:24

Wow! That is a whole new level of naff

anotherlevel · 06/09/2024 12:25

Seems like there are 3 threads on this property already!

grandmabrown · 06/09/2024 12:36

This is the 3rd thread about this house now

ABirdsEyeView · 06/09/2024 12:52

I think it's sweet - especially the Sesame Street wall in the garden. But truthfully, I wouldn't buy it because the thought of painting over it a) makes me feel a bit sad and b) would take some serious time and effort!

I wonder how much more it would be worth if the owners had painted it back to more neutral decoration.

Cattery · 06/09/2024 12:57

Hideous, to be honest

HeyPrestoAlakazam · 06/09/2024 12:58

I posted on the other thread that it might be a nice property for a Child Minder or Respite Foster Carer.

Clearinguptheclutter · 06/09/2024 10:04

You’ve clearly never been to Rhyl

😂Ain't that the truth.

Mrsdyna · 06/09/2024 13:01

Oh my goodness! I'm not usually one to be bothered by stuff like this but I really hate it 😂

I'd be using trade paint for extra coverage.

£180k for three bedrooms. I'd be okay with redecorating in time as my children outgrew it

It’s in Rhyl though
