What’s the best dummy for a newborn, for shape/health etc?

Whichever you go for, don't bank on your baby agreeing. My DS is 3 months and we've tried a dummy numerous times (and various different brands) but he's only ever spat it out and pulled a disgusted face! I'm quite pleased deep down, although it would be handy to settle him at times.

Why would you give a newborn a dummy? Surely you’d start off trying to manage without one.

Why would you try and manage without one? Especially if you aren't breastfeeding.

Babies love to suck, it comforts them, they reduce the risk of SIDS etc I didn't see why I needed to wait.
