Ruggable or Totter and Tumble Playmat?

Hello, I'm a new mum and looking for opinions on what would be the better investment - a Totter & Tumble playmat or a Ruggable (seen a nice one with animals on it)? I am willing to make the investment on a quality product if we can get a good few years out of it. My partner and I are currently leaning towards the T&T option as we're thinking that, since it doubles up as a good yoga mat, we can get rid of our current yoga mat and free up under sofa space (where the yoga mat currently lives) for storage of baby toys etc. I also thought that the texture of the T&T playmat might support with developing the baby's movement and, eventually, walking - but that might not necessarily be any different with a nice soft rug. Don't know! I would be grateful for any helpful thoughts/experiences. Thank you.

I'm having the exact same debate at the moment! I love the ruggable designs but think a playmat would be much more practical with no.2 on the way soon. but then again with my first we had a soft Ikea rug and just put washable playmats on top and it was fine! worried the tumble mat will look weird when guests come round. but do like the idea of it being soft and wipe-down to clean. argh decisions!

I have a totter and tumble mat and it is down like a rug in our lounge and the design certainly doesn't look out of place. I looked up ruggable and with children playing and messes etc I would definitely say totter and tumble.

We have both

ruggable are washable but thinnnnn
My DH bought ours and I don’t love it tbh

t&t gets my vote

Design is mega inoffensive/ close to stylish
warmer underfoot in winter.
once baby hits 5m and start banging their heels into solid wood floors t&t come into their own
As toddlers they can bash crash fall etc.

we got our t&t XL size for £10 on fb marketplace

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences! Very helpful. I think a T&T playmat is what I'll go with. Thanks very much.
