He’s now pretending to have cancer

You might remember my posts about the not so DB who has pretended to be in the navy, Mi5, American navy, senior defence analyst, phd from LSE to basically extort over £100k from my parents. Some of it he did whilst DF was dying. He brought in props to secure the deal. It’s vile.

DM has started to see through his BS and said she has no money money to give (frankly she does not) but now, now he’s claiming to have cancer and needs another £10k.

shes not going to give it to him because I’ve pointed out to her how full of shit he is with clear evidence. But it’s the audacity.

i called the police, and tried to chat it through with them and they were utterly usless. They’d only call him or visit him if she made the allegation and there was proof of physical abuse. I spoke about safeguarding and manipulation and emotional abuse and they just weren’t interested.

truthfully this post is just a vent about how vile he can be as this is far too embarrassing to talk about in real life. Him and his vile girlfriend who are working together to bleed my mother dry.

That’s truly awful, what a narcissist. Stand your ground and try to protect your mum from him, such vile behaviour.

He’s blocked me on everything, and blames me for losing his job.. not that it was likely his funny funny LinkedIn page claiming to be a programme delivery manager and a phd…

this is terrible but it makes me worried for when dm does pass away and I’m left to deal with the estate with him. Keeping in mind I’m going to be doing all the caring etc

He sounds like my BIL. Except he has no sisters. Vile man. Awful to hear that he is not the only one. His own father has gone NC with him and his mother is not far off the same, never actively contacts him, only hears from him when he wants something (usually money for drugs) from her.

QueenHilda · 01/09/2024 18:09

I remember your other post about him. I’m so glad your mother has seen him for what he is. He must break her heart. Although if I remember correctly (and forgive me if I am wrong) he was her golden boy for far too long and she is lucky that you are still looking out for her and haven’t left her to reap what she has sown. I hope that you and she can continue to build a positive relationship and that she succeeds in keeping your horrible brother at arm’s length. His girlfriend sounds like a nasty piece of work too.
(and sorry if I have misremembered your family history!)

Would your mother plan now for when she’s gone? Make you sole executor for example.
I’d have to insist on accompanying him to his hospital appointment just to see how he gets round that.

I’ve said to her, please don’t make me divide it with him. If want him to benefit then please write me out of the will. The headache of basically doing everything and then him shafting me will be too much.

oh I’d only believe him having cancer if I was literally at the hospital and spoke to the oncologist myself (that was clearly a member of the hospital and not a paid actor) and saw the chemo being administered.

theres also been debt collectors harassing my mother has he’s given her contact details

I remember your previous posts. Debt collectors? Has he committed fraud and taken out loans in your mother's name or given her name as a guarantor without her knowledge? The police would be more likely to be interested in that.

Would it be possible for your mother to give you POA now, and make you the sole executor of her will for the future? He would then be unable to do anything.

rainydaysaway · 01/09/2024 18:43

I knew it was you (about your brother) from the title of your post…

Sorry he’s still acting up, but at least your Mum can see home for what he is.

ceecee32 · 01/09/2024 19:05

I know the police have said they can't do anything big have you spoken to the social services safeguarding team.
Not quite the same circumstances but my mums stepson and stepdaughter were after everything they could get as soon as their dad died. My mum was so distressed that she had to go into respite and it was the home that sent for the safeguarding team

I’m not sure she would, he’s still golden boy, deep down, she’s constantly looking for a redemption arc in his story

its the audacity, who thinks that they are owed someone’s money, to this extent. £100k and he’s pissed it away like that woman in inventing Anna

Waltermittyslilsis · 01/09/2024 19:22

I don’t think he’s done fraud in her name, I think he’s ran up lines of credit he can’t pay for and has a debt agreeemnt in place and hasn’t paid but has given her contact info for his place of address

Why did he receive all that money if he was so successful, surely he didn't need it.

If I were you I'd get your mums credit report just to check he's not taken credit out in her name.

I'd also make sure she's left a will with very clear instructions.
