Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm sitting with dd1 in the kitchen while she makes us both a coffee. Boy kitten's getting comfy for a nap, girl kitten's jumping around like a loon with a toy, & dd2 is still asleep (I think). Dd1's off back up to make a start on another piece of homework & I'll see if dd2's up when I've drunk my coffee and taken my tablets.

We're maybe going out for dinner today since we didn't get there yesterday 🙄 Although the weather's less nice for a wander round the lake today.

When we get back, if we go, I need to sort my work bag for tomorrow (boo!) and maybe iron dd2's blouses for when she goes back on Thursday. If I get round to it, I'll list a couple of things on Vinted too.

Tonight it'll be self care Sunday for me - everything shower, face mask, moisturiser, the works, then an hour or two with my book before an early night 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

We had all sorts of plans to take the dog out again... but he's started limping. I suppose the beach walk yesterday was a little too much for him. Think we'll have to phone the vet again as it's been going on far too long now.

Otherwise it's just pottering at home, washing, tidying, hoovering and other boring shit that somehow always gets left to a Sunday

Morning @lucysmam & everyone. Feeling a bit sad as home from our lovely London break but happy at the same time as it went so well. Already planning next year’s.We might go in September so that most of the schools will have gone back.
Still in bed & have had a cuppa. DH is looking at an Indian takeaway menu ( we’ll get it delivered tonight). I’m tempted by the duck with garlic & ginger. If it’s still open, we might go to a local sunflower trail later. Kitchen looks like a bomb hit it so will be sorting that, including bleaching the surfaces. Need to unpack which won’t take long. I might catch up with Emmerdale, which DH doesn’t watch, then we can watch Friday’s Corrie tonight.

Trying to make the day last as long as possible as start a new job tomorrow after 8 weeks off

JMAngel1 · 01/09/2024 10:31

Good morning all.

Feeling very lazy today - me and DH went out for a lovely dinner last night for our wedding anniversary and too much wine was drank.

There was a sleepover here last night so lots of shenanigans in the night - giggling and doors closing until at least 4.30am so not expecting the girls to appear any time soon!

I’m hoping for just a home day today as it’s my last day off until Sat - have got used to having a few annual leave days here and there across summer holidays so back to normal
5 days in a row is going to hurt! Also planning to get back on healthy eating and workout routine from tomorrow - double pain!!

So only plans for the day are laundry (always), strip and change all beds, clean our master suite and maybe make some scones.

Plan on reading my book as much as possible - I cannot put it down - “the most fun we ever had” by Claire Lombardo. Definitely recommend if anyone is looking for inspo.

Have a great day everyone.

Ooh good luck!

I love these type of threads. I've just got up and put a wash on, everyone except dh are still in PJ'S. We got the cleaning done yesterday but need to do the shopping later. The kids want to bake later which will probably mean more cleaning will need to be done but there will be biscoff brownies to compensate. I think we'll go out blackberry picking too.

dontforgetme · 01/09/2024 10:45

Good morning @lucysmam and all!

Just had tea and cheese on toast. Very slow morning here, we have all been lazing on the sofa.

No plans at all, just how I like it!

Tomorrow is our last day off and I have some of the kids' school friends over. My children not long started a new school before the 6 weeks so I am keen for them to see their new friends before Tuesday as I am expecting a few tears Tuesday morning.

Have lovely Sundays all!

doyoulikemyyams · 01/09/2024 10:49

Morning all! Lovely to hear about your days, as always.

I'm feeling a bit at a loss today, to be honest – I got up and did a workout, walked the dog, and now have nothing much to do.

Moving country in a couple of weeks and have sent the vast majority of my stuff ahead of time, so most of the 'prepping to move' stuff won't need to be done until next week.

I could just settle in with a book and enjoy a day of nothing, but I'm feeling twitchy... Suggestions welcome!

RabbitsRock · 01/09/2024 10:53

Ooh there’s an idea - haven’t been blackberrying yet!

Taytocrisps · 01/09/2024 10:57

Morning @lucysmam and gang. I went to 'Wicked' last night, so I'm a bit tired this morning. DCats are snoozing. DD has gone to work. Heading to visit my Dad shortly and we'll head out to lunch somewhere.

Ariela · 01/09/2024 11:02

Bacon baps for breakfast, with the nice coffee, in the garden.
Bloody squirrels have decimated the sunflowers - even the ones that are barely out.
Garden day today, lots to do out there.

PurpleTinsel555 · 01/09/2024 11:06

Good morning everyone! It’s so lovely to hear about everyone’s days.

A quiet one here today — DP got back late last night from working away, so we’re cuddling up and relaxing today. I’ll make brunch shortly, then revise a bit before I go back to my night course tomorrow. Making a big chicken parm for dinner. The last time I made it was a disaster, so this is my redemption arc!

Hope everyone enjoys these last few days of summer. X

Thislittlekitten · 01/09/2024 11:15

Morning all.

Tired here. DS had friends for a sleepover. They had a great time but very noisy. Ddog joined in and had blast. He’s snoozing now. Both Dcats snoozing too. Some tidying to be done and planning a bacon roll and a cheeky snooze.

Have the usual uniforms and work clothes to organise. DH is making tea though for tonight.

MoreIcedLattePlease · 01/09/2024 11:54

Good morning, Lucysmam.

My day sounds quite similar! We've had a lovely lie-in, then DH made bacon sandwiches. He's now putting our old corner sofa back together, so we can take photographs of it and (hopefully) selling it as we are moving house soon. I'm feeling slightly emotional about this, as it was the first 'big' thing DH and I ever bought together for a home and it's served us extremely well. It is still like new! (I really rate IKEA sofas for this reason).

Once that is done and the sofa bed (yes, we have a lot of furniture) that we've sold already has been collected, I'm going to get started on a roast chicken dinner and some packed lunch prep for the week. It's my first day at a new school (teacher) tomorrow and I'm terrified! But I know being well prepared at home will take the anxiety off a little. Uniforms, bags etc for the children are, thankfully, already sorted out.

After dinner, we're having apple and blackberry crumble that I'm making from foraged apples and blackberries, the children are a bit too excited for that, and then I am also having a self care Sunday evening. Bath, face mask, a nice hot chocolate and watching Harry Potter in bed before I have to get up and be an adult tomorrow!

Hope everybody has a lovely 1st of September.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 01/09/2024 12:17

Good afternoon Lucysmam and others. *@Theoldwoman I hope you get well soon. It's good that you are being looked after. I have got a chicken and cider casserole bubbling away in the slow cooker. I'll add dumplings later. I also made croutons from the heel of a loaf I made on Thursday. Then I made four jars of lime curd. So a domestic day. I'll shortly have rolls on chipolata sausages with mustard. Later I'll visit mum in hospital. I have a small ironing to do that I'm putting off. Enjoy your day

steadywinner · 01/09/2024 12:24

Been for a walk this morning while the weather was still decent - storms predicted from midday 🙄

Had a surprise message from DS who's passing through the area later so he's going to pop in for a couple of hours and have dinner with us, which has cheered me up no end!

lucysmam · 01/09/2024 12:35

It takes my teens that long to get sorted that I'm still sitting about waiting to go out & I'm hungry! Dd1's decided this is the ideal time to stick false lashes & 2 is wandering round debating trainers or boots 🙄

Looks like everyone is having a lovely day today.

I'm still recovering from a bad sprained ankle but have booked into a warm yin yoga class later to see how much mobility I have in it. Got up early enough, fed pets, showered, journaled and lit some incense. Kids were back to school last week so still recovering from the battery reset. Busy week ahead with work and routines returning to normal. Might do roast chicken and all the trimmings later.

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 01/09/2024 12:43

Afternoon all - sunshine here, so washing on the line. DD and gf have gone out, so I'm home alone which is nice. No back to school stuff to sort for DD this year which feels very strange (just finished A levels, not going to uni) but I'm back tomorrow so have The Fear. You'd think it would pass after so bloody long teaching. I'm leading INSET tomorrow so the rest of the day will be spent organising that.

BellaBobbins · 01/09/2024 15:51

I'm cream crackered...we decided to buy some under bed storage so we can pack summer clothes away, so I thought I'd sweep under the bed.

Wooden Floors, Fluffy Dog and living quite rurally means that generally our house can get quite dusty...with what I've just swept up you'd think I've never dusted, hoovered and mopped my floors.

😖

Good afternoon @lucysmam and all.
Very late to the thread today. Ran to big half this morning so nursing some very tired legs. It was so hot and a struggle in places.
Just on my way home from the pub.
Bath and snooze await.
Hope everyone had a good day.
