Anyone recommend a nice walk in the Chilterns to do this weekend?

I'm not a seasoned walker so was thinking 1.5hrs max circular on flattish terrain as I have kids. Anywhere that ends with a nice pub for Sunday lunch would also be ideal!!! (recs pls!)

The Chilterns are hilly! How about along the Thames instead if you want flat-ish?
What age are your DC? And when you say 1.5hrs, what distance are you talking about? Are you going at toddler pace or speeding teen who just wants to get to the pub, home & done?

@sangriaandsunshineplease ranging from 7 to 15 in ages. 1hr round trip ideally. Kids love walking (I don't!)

Not sure if it’s precisely ‘Chilterns’ but a walk that might fit the bill is to walk from Greyhound pub in Wigginton along Wick Road, turn right at the end and right again into Tring Park. Walk through the park to form a loop back to Wigginton. As well as the pub there’s a good playground on the village green and lovely community cafe and shop.

Simplest option is to aim for Marlow and walk along the river through Higginson Park (play area, skate park, green space but no football goals or basketball hoops) and keep going along the river. Once you get to Temple lock, you can either double back or, just before Temple lock, you can turn right, then right again at the footpath sign and come back along a parallel path. Once you get up to the road, keep going and either take the signed footpath on the right back to the original path you were on or keep going along the road until you get back to the park. That's about 5km. Various restaurants and pubs in Marlow.
Or you can do something similar in Henley but it is a shorter, busier walk towards Shiplake. Due to a footbridge closure, once you've crossed the first bridge to the lock, you have to double back. Again, various pubs and restaurants in Henley.
Other options would be around the Flowerpot Inn in Remenham, the Kings Head or Spade Oak in Little Marlow, the Ferry, Bel & Dragon or White Oak in Cookham, all of which are close to the river and can easily be combined with a walk

If you can get a table, the Valiant Trooper or The Greyhound are both good food pubs in Aldbury. Choice of walks round the village (eg along the Nowers) or up to Ashridge Monument.

Thanks all! These are trails I was looking at/finding easier to follow online

@Realdeal1 it is not directly on that walk, but the Plough at Casden is not far from there - great pub

@TeaandHobnobs thank you! We were also thinking of Ashridge estate as an option too, very flat!

That's never going to take an hour! Unless you fly kites at the monument / turn right at the fence and let the kids climb the trees in that little cluster.

I have a great 5k rout that takes you past Chequers, but no pub, best option would be to divert to the Russell Arms, but parking can be interesting, We've had issues blocking in diners who parked at the hall opposite on a Friday night🤣
