Do you throw your kids arts/crafts stuff away? Or otherwise how do you manage them?

Just that.

Mum's guilt. Rarely threw them away. But over years, it will be impossible and unreasonable.

Any wisdom to share please?

Just chuck them away. They get pit on fridge for a week or so, or played with for a bit until they're beyond repair ... then in the bin it goes.
I have kept a couple of the "good" ones.

Hi @Rekka. I have 3 Dc’s and I just kept accumulating a lot of the good stuff but also a lot of shite (sorry) I did keep some of the things they made over the years and I have got quite a collection but I did BIN!…..A LOT!!!
It’s actually not realistic to be able to keep all of it unless you have a large room or shed that can accommodate it all.
i used to feel a little guilty but as long as you have a few bits and bobs, it’s fine.

Take photos and throw out.

NuffSaidSam · 31/08/2024 16:05

You have to bin 99.9% of it.

Get them a folder each for the really memorable stuff for you/them to look back on.

Rekka · 31/08/2024 16:06

@FartNRoses , thanks. I gathered it's probably just about a balance. Even storing in shed may not be feasible, as these materials will absorb all the moisture and dampness in the winter air - our shed is not well water proofed!

Lots of guilt, but I will have to do it!!!

I kept lots of bits when DC were older. They're in their teens now and we recently moved and went through the loft and we all agreed to bin the lot! They had no interest in even looking at it. I took a few photos of my absolute favourite bits, but that's it.

Icedlatteofdreams · 31/08/2024 16:25

Just bin it, or say you are sending to a relative abroad if you can't hide it. They'll forget all about it soon enough. I put a few pieces on the wall or on display for a little while but then in the bin it goes.

Cottagecheeseisnotcheese · 31/08/2024 16:27

get a container say a box file and that's what you keep when you can't shut lid you go through it and chose favourites what was a favourite 6 months ago will be of no interest now.

I laminated the nicest bits and stuck them on the wall instead of wallpaper in their playroom.

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 31/08/2024 17:25

Keep for a week or two, take a photo, chuck.

Unless it's really good and then it gets framed and put up on the wall 😁

Digitise and de-clutter 😊
