Inspiration needed for 18th Birthday present

DD is 18 soon and no longer wants the gift she'd originally wanted - fortunately not bought yet. So with a short time to go she wants me to effectively surprise her.

I wouldn't mind buying her some jewellery but she won't give me a steer and she's worried she'd lose something 'naice'.

Interest wise she's quite academic, plays tennis, watches Formula 1.

Can anyone provide some inspiration? Id like it to be something special that she'll remember

Does she like food? I have just booked a foodie walking tour in London for my DS who turned 16 yesterday.

That's a lovely idea. I think she's probably a bit too fussy but perhaps an 'experience' could be fun.

My nephew recently turned 18. We gave him a Fisher Bullet Space Pen, but I guess if she’s worried about losing jewellery, the same might be true of a pen! My nephew got a hot air balloon ride given by grandparents and a nice watch from his parents.

A trip?
My kids would practically die with excitement if, as a family, we would travel to see the set of Gilmore Girls, or stay in the Cullens House from Twilight, which is an AirBNB. We may not have the money for this by the time either of them get to 18, but I love the idea.

To really help with ideas we'd need to know a bit more about your daughter and your budget. I got a very nice pair of earrings and a gold charm bracelet for mine, which I rarely wear but treasure.
If she's into fashion, a nice, timeless handbag would be a good option if you're familiar with her tastes. If she likes to travel, a spa weekend?

Sorry, I wrote the OP in my lunch break.

Budget wise, it could be say £50-£200.

I'd like her to have something to keep which is why I initially suggested a piece of jewellery.

But after seeing experience suggestions I've though perhaps a make up lesson might be nice.

She is so focused on her studies at the moment that hobbies have been sidelined.

Can she drive? Then a supercar experience or if she can't she can ride in one

She's actually just trying to learn to drive and hates it - she genuinely is a difficult one!

She can ride in one of she can't drive. If she loves Formula 1 it will be great.
