Oasis ticket - ID required?

Ledci · 30/08/2024 09:10

I'm going to try and get Oasis tickets (I'm not holding out any hope whatsoever but someone has to get them!)
My question is - it says under 14's not allowed. My son will be 1 months off of 14 and looks old enough - I'm happy for him to attend with me but will they ask for ID?
Not sure as never taken him to a concert before that has an age limit.

DD went to Coldplay at the Etihad with a friend and her parents- booked by the other parents (that was no under 14s in the standing area- obviously where they had booked), she was 2 month off being 14. No one asked, and they were right at the front of the stage.

I don't know if that was luck or just lax security, I wouldn't risk it.

PrimalLass · 30/08/2024 10:09

Sometimes they check - the guidelines for the last couple DD has been at were pretty specific.

Taylor Swift at Anfield stadium….lots of under 10s there ….no ID checks

Procrastinates · 30/08/2024 10:10

I wouldn't risk it. When I went to Wembley to see Taylor Swift they were absolutely checking and I wouldn't want to find myself in a situation where I was standing at the gates unable to get in.

200% they won’t 😊

Book seated - no age restrictions there

And yet my friend with her under 14 daughter went to TS in Wembley for standing and they weren't checked

For seated? They were checking? …..definitely not my friends and colleagues experience

The crowd will be a bit different from Taylor swift & cold play. Have a look at some videos of usual Liam G gigs, lots of fighting & they like to throw pints of piss over people

No for standing. Which is where the age restrictions were and where they will be for oasis. There were age restrictions of no under 5s for Taylor and I believe Oasis will have similar restrictions but I didn't see anyone who looked under 5 so I don't know if that part was enforced although I suspect it would be if the child was obviously younger.

SerendipityJane · 30/08/2024 10:31

If nothing else thy should check the ticket belongs to the person that bought it.

Unpopular I know, but it stops resellers. That's if the band care (which I doubt ... they ain't doing for love).

DS really wanted to see a film that was a 15.
He was 14, 11 months.

When the guy asked for ID I said I didn't have it but I'll call his dad to take a photo and send it.

I'd previously edited the numbers on a photo to make him 15.

No issue.

And before people say I'm setting a bad example for my kids blah blah blah, he was 14 and autistic, he didn't know I'd done it and the film was all he had talked about for 3 months
