Please help. We went walking today at Dovedale and my partner told us it was
Safe to drink the water directly from the 🪨 …. So my ten year old daughter filled her bottle and drank the whole thing… I’m now reading online that unfiltered spring water can be full of bacteria and I am very worried !!! Does anyone have any advice ? Thanks !! She seems fine in herself atm

This is quite sad if you ask me.
I live in the back end of no-where on the continent, but my kids have always drunk flask-fulls of natural spring water, and swum in rivers and lakes. I've never once had to think about it.

I remember doing so in the lakes in the UK as a child too. Such a shame that you can't do this now without worry.

You can do this. There isn't a problem with the water as many PPs have attested so there's no need to be sad. The OP just didn't know and got a bit worried but her daughter I'm sure will be just fine.

I used to work on construction sites and one of the grizzled old foremen would have a taste of the water from unidentified pipes to see if they were sewers.
