Does anyone else get really short lived bugs?

I'm still baffled at how ill I was only a few hours ago but basically toddler threw up once last night (and then was bouncing off the walls again!). I woke up this morning feeling really sick, made it to the toilet and threw up and then was wretching with my head in a bowl every 5 mins. Rung my mum to come get DD and I couldn't even speak properly on the phone for wretching! Anyway she got her at 8.30am, I threw up again and fell asleep until 12 and now I've got up, felt hungry so had some soup. Washed all DDs sicky bedding from last night and I'm about to get a shower and go pick her up.

I'm just really baffled at how quickly I've felt better and don't feel sick anymore when a few hours ago I literally wanted to die! Have I just had a short bug that's out my system now or am I likely to relapse?

Just because you feel better doesn't mean you aren't contagious!!

Noro is usually very fast passing (albeit sickness is very violent) but its so horribly contagious.

Last time I had noro I was floored for 2 days so I'm not sure it's that @Crunchymum. But yes that's why I want go get DD now so she doesn't infect my poor mum (if she hasn't already!). I've rung into work tonight as I work a customer facing job and want to wait 48 hours before gojng back.

I am suffering flu like symptoms today . Really bad last night went to bed early. This morning really rough but after going back to bed I feel so much better.

Crunchymum · 29/08/2024 13:46

Yeah if it's Noro you usually know about it.

Have had sickness before (down to something I ate in assume) as I actually remember the point I was sick and I "knew" I had gotten out what I needed to. I just felt instantaneously better. Of course I was tired and peaky etc but the pain and sickness just disappeared.

Being ill is always a good excuse for a lazy / low key day or two (not always easy with children!)

Hope you and DC feel better soon and hope it doesn't get your mum.

Sorry to hear that @Soonenough but glad you're feeling better! Being ill is so miserable isn't it.

Thanks @Crunchymum, I think it might be something I've eaten as I was so unbelievably sick this morning but it's just disappeared. When I had noro I was really weak and shaky after and felt fluey. Me and the dog have enjoyed a lovely few hours watching Disney+ in bed so have enjoyed some rare peace and quiet 😂

I had bad stomach cramps and diarrhoea very early this morning, feel fine now, I think it must have been something I ate also, I'm not going out though as I don't want to be took short.
