Want to take my daughter swimming but there's one problem...

I've got a 6 month old daughter and some of my mum friends have recommended I take her to baby classes at our local swimming pool (they've really enjoyed them). I love swimming and would love to take her. However I'm still exclusively breast feeding. My boobs have a difference of about 4 maybe 5 cup sizes so its nearly impossible to find a bikini or bra that fits. I'm a healthy bmi, pre-pregancy was a 30FF. Now I have no idea. The thing is they are too big to go without proper support and there is no way I could afford a fancy swimsuit off bravissimo or the like. Does anyone have any ideas, recommendations or suggestions? I'm thinking about going in bikini bottoms and my (very ill-fitting) sports bra and maybe a t shirt if the pool will allow it. I've never had this problem before and it really sucks. Thanks in advance 🙂

It’s also a lot colder swimming with a baby since you aren’t moving much - I stuck to a rash vest until she was independent in the water because I just got way too cold.

I have a mastectomy (reconstruction didn't work) and took DGD to baby swimming classes. You can get swimsuits (and presumably bikini tops) with pockets for a mastectomy prosthesis. I just stuffed the space with a shower sponge thingy. Maybe you could get something like this and just stuff the smaller side sufficiently to balance them up?

I've definitely seen folk wearing a bra under their costume. I've also seen folk wearing a rash vest over a bikini/swimsuit. As long as it's nothing too floaty/dangerous then it should be fine. If you really feel self conscious then wear padding at one side? Good luck and I'm sure once you're in other folk will be too worried about their own lumps and bumps!

BraStop Up to K cup bras for less than £20 and always some swimwear on off too. There is also a measuring guide, to help you work out what size to order

I have some slouchy maternity bras I wear (no cups) with a quick dry tee shirt over. And normal bikini bottoms. I don't usually wear them other than at home because there's not enough support, but perfect for swimming. I think I got them for M+S (a few years ago now though, with my first).

Long-sleeved rash vest style swimsuits are pretty common these days due to awareness of the sun, so a bikini top under one of those might work well, too. Plus you can use it on holiday later 🌞
