....what will happen to you?

OP posts:
shams05 · 28/08/2024 00:04

You'll have less washing up to do!

How many would you eat in a day?
The last time I bought a pot noodle, the noodles looked more like leftovers at the bottom of a pan than actual noodles and the smell is pretty overwhelmingly sickening.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 28/08/2024 00:08

When I was at uni there was a guy who lived on Asda smart price super noodles type things, he got scurvy

TheOnlyCherryOnMyTree · 28/08/2024 00:10

I feel like this is my teenager asking this, given the choice this is exactly what they would do. If you are my teen go to bed, school is back in the morning.

startingagain17 · 28/08/2024 00:12

When I was younger at college, I used to have a sausage sandwich and chicken super noodles every day for around 6 months. I started to lose my hair in clumps.

It's the husband. He is supposed to be eating a healthy diet following a pulmonary embolism which is now around 7 years ago. This is his idea of a healthy diet. Doesn't go near a vegetable or a fruit. Maybe flings in a frozen pizza on a Friday for variety.

On what basis has he decided this is a healthy diet???

Singleandproud · 28/08/2024 10:26

Is he lazy or just likes super noodles?
Nadiya has a recipe for instant noodles that you Mae in advance, store in a mason type jar then just add water, so it's a healthier version.

DH should obviously make it himself Asif he doesn't care for himself why should you

Nadiya Hussain's Instant Noodles

Nadiya Hussain's clever take on instant noodles is a go-to comfort food recipe, with four variations packed with delicious flavours and satisfying ingredients. These stress-free noodles make a warming lunch or an easy weeknight supper.

In “supersize me” (fast food and “super size” whenever it was offered) the actor/ victim got liver failure, heart palpitations and possible heart attack, flab, headaches, anxiety. All sorts.

My concern would be the MSG and his teeth.

The sodium alone!

But does he think it's healthy or does he not care? Those are different.

StarGirrrl77 · 28/08/2024 10:35

@Sgtmajormummy His teeth are beyond saving. I can't be within a 10 foot bargepole radius of the man.

@Singleandproud His mum asked me once to make sure he was eating properly. I'm not his mum. He's never cooked for me once in 17 years, so he can get on with it.

@MrsTerryPratchett I really think he thinks he's doing a good job.

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 28/08/2024 10:38

If he thinks he's doing a good job, get him to log all his food in MyFitnessPal. Should be fairly easy to look at sodium, vitamins, fat all that jazz.

Singleandproud · 28/08/2024 10:38

@StarGirrrl77 why are you with him? It doest sound like you like him much, or that he brings much to the table....unless it's for the life insurance payout which won't be too far away if he continues the way he does.

There was a man in the news a few years ago who only ate crisps. He went blind.

www.bbc.com/news/health-49551337.amp

That was because he had to find something else to do at meal times.

The chap in supersize me was alcoholic and apparently it was that fucking up his results more than the McDonald’s.

Sarcoidosis- no idea what it is but someone usually suggests it on House

no it’ll be Lupus.

CelestialNexus · 28/08/2024 10:44

And you're with him because?

ApolloandDaphne · 28/08/2024 10:45

And you are still with him because...?

It doesn't sound like you are overly fond of him.

StarGirrrl77 · 28/08/2024 10:50

To those asking why I am with him, it is coming to an end, but I do still want him to stay alive.

You're not his mother.

You cannot control what he does / doesn't do
You cannot control what he eats / doesn't eat

This is not your problem

blackheartsgirl · 28/08/2024 13:03

I fancy a Pot Noodle now.. beef and tomato.

Op he sounds very much like my ex and he had awful teeth. By the time he was 29 he had all his teeth removed bar 4. I knew it was over when I had to get drunk to sleep with him as his remaining 4 teeth and breath were so bad and finally came to the realisation that I couldn’t change him, didn’t want to change him, and I just couldn’t be arsed any more trying to act like his mother. Binned him after. He’s still alive, don’t know how though

ProvincialLady2024 · 28/08/2024 13:13

I'd expect changes of bowel cancer would be much increased?

HowardTJMoon · 28/08/2024 13:25

I am irrationally irritated that Asda has categorised those under "Tinned food". It's not right.
