Do you wear headphones and listen to anything when you walk the dog?

I don’t, I feel disrespectful to the dog.

I’ve got an audiobook I’m enjoying and I’d quite like to listen as I take the dog out just now (on lead so no issue with keeping tabs on where he is). I’d feel guilty though, is this weird?

Yes I do, to keep me sane, the dog loves a sniff - I mean loves a long, detailed, super boring sniff with an extra sniff on top and oh I might go back to this sniff. If I didn't wear headphones and listen to a book I would be way less tolerant and tug at her lead - interrupting the very important sniffing and ruining it for her - so headphones and as many sniffs as she wants for as long as she wants.

No!

Drowning out the sound of nature would kill a walk for me.

Half the pleasure of a walk is enjoying the sounds of the birds and the bees 😉

I used to listen to music but the dog is now old , deaf and requires my full attention .

My terrier is the same. My audio book stops me getting irritated.
Currently listening to the gossipy House of Beckham

No, I walk in the woods so it’s an interesting mix of nature sounds and listening anxiously for potential murderers for me.

A little chit chat with the dogs but they are mostly too busy chasing each other and jumping over logs!

Nope because I have conversations with my dog while we’re walking 😂

She has her own voice, I stop if I see someone as I’ll look weird.

Same. Our morning walk is my reflection time, the dog knows more about what makes me tick than any other living thing. He never gives an opinion and so far hasn't told me to STFU.

I'm also still lead training as he pulls like a tractor. We've tried everything, and verbal commands are the only thing that work, but its not sticking.
