Coat recommendations…football mum soon to be

I’m going to be a football mum soon, my little girls joined a football team & with autumn/winter approaching I need a decent coat for training & matches. Lots of people have been telling me about dryrobes or similar. Can people advise are these worth it? I really don’t want to be spending a fortune but equally I will be standing out in the cold & rain a lot so want to be dry & warm.

Do people have any recommendations?

North Face but try to get one in the sale. There may be a sale now as it is Summer. I got a £400 one for £200 and it lasted me 3 boys and have had it for over 12 years and it still looks new. Warm and waterproof.

Mountain Warehouse are a good shout. Brought a really thick winter waterproof for Iceland this year. Use it for watching football matches as well and found it kept me warm.

North face or Didriksons. You want something properly waterproof.

I'm too short for Didriksons but they are excellent, I went with a thick north face parka instead. Live in Scotland and it has seen me through rainy football season!

Dry robes are not flattering and aren't designed for this purpose. They are cosy though.

I'd suggest getting a king size duvet and wrapping yourself in it. Nothing else will keep you warm.

Whatever you decide coat wise you need warm, dry feet too.

Sweaty Betty nimbus is my favourite. I have a north face puffy coat too but the nimbus is like wearing a sleeping bag.

Didriksons coat but also thick socks and good footwear, your feet will turn to ice by January.

What @Sunnydaysaredisppearing says. I've had years of research 🤣.
I really feel the cold, and found Didrikson to be the warmest. Made to be warm and waterproof, and have a range of useful pockets.
I found wool socks the best, warm but not too thick.

Dry robes may not be designed to be worn pitch side but they’re bloody brilliant and do the job well
