Nanny fees

I have a nanny two days a week for 1:1 care of my 2 year old. We are planning to ask her to also look after my sister’s 1 year old on one of those days. The two are like sisters and we are totally flexible on whether they will be at ours/theirs or out and about etc. Can anyone guide me on how much more we should expect to pay for two vs 1; currently she’s on £12.50 an hour after tax. TIA 🙏

Does your nanny want to look after someone else's child?

Overtonian · 24/08/2024 16:14

@Hobnobswantshernameback yes :)

£12.50 an hour is shockingly low anyway. I pay my cleaner much more than that and a nanny is in full responsibility of your tiny humans!

You should be paying at least £15ph, maybe £18 for adding the cousin.

£12.50 an hour as a nanny? Wow thats low

Has she got insurance? First Aid? A DBS?

I was on £16 NET as a nanny 10 years ago

PoopedAndScooped · 24/08/2024 16:42

She needs to be on atleast £20 an hour for the two

To add to other OPs and hope you take it on board, what you are paying is very very low. Nannying is a profession and the salary should reflect that.
