The new-ish COVID and GI sysmtoms - how do you tell the difference between that and another virus and norovirus?

My partner and his family - some siblings and nieces and nephews - they are all becoming ill with GI symptoms. I don't know if they have any other symptoms. Some of them would be too young to explain how they are and others would be minimising cold like symptoms.

I don't know what this is. At a guess it's likely norovirus or covid. They won't do covid. How do you tell the difference between COVID with GI symptoms and norovirus?

My partner is talking about meeting my family mid week and I am thinking hell not.

I came across this about norovirus - three days after symptoms clear and you are good to go about as normal.

Me and my family all became sick with covid a few weeks and we can't afford to get ill again. Not now.

I wouldn bother trying to figure out if it’s Covid or not
What difference does it make

There are thousands of viruses out there - we don't need to know the difference between all of them. If people feel really unwell, they stay in. If not, they carry on as normal. We MUST be exposed to all this stuff to help our immune systems. We can pick up a virus on a bus, in a shop, at work, at school etc..... this is fine, and normal. Just get on with your life and what will be, will be.

What difference does it make to whether you see them?

They clearly have some sort of contagious bug causing vomiting. I'd be steering clear regardless.

There's people that would say - you already had covid so meet him and you can't get it again but it could be anything from him. He's ill and I reckon it's likely norovirus especially with the GI sysmtoms. He wants to meet me and my family mid week but I fear he may still be contagious. Even if he's on the mend he may still be contagious.

There's no such such as immunity training.

Me and my family got ill a few weeks ago and we are not 100% yet. I have rashes. Another family member has shingles. Another family member has cold sores. Another has regular nose bleeds and we are all fucked. I reckons it's an indication out our immune systems shot down after covid.

It's just whatever he has and if he's still contagious and it could be likely we are all likely going to be more prone to it. I think I would like to avoid him for a week til he's better and just let it pass. If it was up to him the minute he's on the mend he will be up and about. He won't even leave it 24 hours after D&V to mix again .
