Would you pay £27 for a 1984 band t shirt?

Just that really. I do like a band t shirt but I much prefer a proper vintage one as opposed to one you can pick up in H & M with the Rolling Stones emblazoned across it (for example)

But they can be pricey (this one is reasonable I think!) so would you go for a proper old school original or a brand new one?

I bought a new but old style Oasis one from HMV. I had the same one when I was 14 but don’t know what happened to it. It was about £27 but it’s good quality.

That’s a bargain! Just looked on eBay and vintage Hall and Oates tee shirts from the mid 80s are going for around £150! They are brilliant live! Saw them in London around that time. Snap it up quick before someone else buys it at that price!

I sold an early 90s Bruce Springsteen t-shirt (very good quality) on Vinted for £25 and think I let it go too cheap. Hope someone wore it to a concert!

OP, I can't go for that (no can do)

SORRY but someone had to!

The only thing I would say is that an eighties T shirt probably has a terrible cut, very high neck and boxy wide sleeves.

That’s a given.

Yes if I wanted it and could afford it.

@NooNakedJacuzziness Grin

Ah I KNOW it's uncool but I'm confident in my styling abilities to make it look, if not cool, then passable and relatively stylish.

I do wonder about the sizing actually. It's a size S and I'm a size 10-12 so it's wouldn't want it to be too tight.

And no I'm not some sort of hall and Oates super fan but I do love their stuff

Yes, that’s pretty cheap for a vintage one

GellerYeller · 23/08/2024 09:27

I love Hall and Oates! I think, like Fleetwood Mac, they’ve come full circle with young people into the ‘cool’ bracket. My kids listen to them… Brandon Flowers says one of their songs is the perfect blueprint for songwriting.
One of my teens is appalled on Kurt Cobain’s behalf at all the Nirvana merch in Primark and New Look 😂

Batterypack · 23/08/2024 10:10

I would but I'd want a large or extra large as a size 12! Looks much better bigger in my opinion

BaronessBomburst · 23/08/2024 12:23

My Depeche Mode 101 t-shirt finally disintegrated last year. I'm still mourning the loss.
