I have read about this in the last couple of days somewhere and now second guessing myself
Should I offer to go in to the school building with DC or let them go in alone

I am ancient. In 1975 when the O level results came out they were posted to us.

In 1979 my dad phoned up, I was at an activity all day. I phoned up for my A level results as I was at my holiday job.

Is this a state school?

Yeah, it’s a state grammar school.
It’ll be coffee flasks and pastries I expect

My son doesn’t want to go he wants me to go and collect them . He’s not expecting bad grades but says he doesn’t want any pressure of opening them and the pictures.
he’s going to have to go

I've been told by previous GCSE parents that they are allowed in the hall foyer, but not the hall itself. I have seen photos of past years where parents are pictured with pupils.

At our school parents wait outside the building or in the carpark. The envelopes are laid out in forms alphabetically on tables in the library.some (most) students open them in there , whilst others don't.

Not quite as ancient but I don't remember there being any parents in evidence when we collected ours. I got the bus to school and collected them with friends. My Mum was at work.
