I love it when a new CF story appears.

The cheek of people always fascinates me!!!!

Woo.

Chill threads like, "what's for breakfast/going on in your house"

largeeyes · 20/08/2024 07:44

I do love a good AIBU when the OP is clearly being very unreasonable and everyone says yes, you are, and then they become furious and start throwing their toys out of the pram. Why ask then if you dont want to know the truth?

I also like the calm what are you up to ones, they are comforting and pleasant

I like CF stories where people have so little insight into their cheekiness I wonder how they function in real life

I like a good moral dilemma too

Chin hair removal
Laundry/line drying
Small things that bring happiness to your life

Blimey, I'm dull.

ToplessWordle · 20/08/2024 07:56

I like the ones about difficulties with cleaners/au pairs; why isn't my house selling? with a Rightmove link; and hacks for housekeeping or organisation (the useless ones are as good as the helpful ones, for different reasons!).

The thing I find most fascinating about MN, however, is the insight into how different people view various issues. My friends generally have a similar outlook on life to me and MN has been a real eye-opener into the range of views which people hold.

OMGitsnotgood · 20/08/2024 08:13

Obscure hilarious ones ( eg penis beaker!)

Really random questions that MNetters know the answers to

Threads with people happy to help you plan Christmas before summer's out

olivecapes · 20/08/2024 08:26

Money related ones. I assume most of the CF are fake these days.

BadLad · 20/08/2024 09:34

Eating food in cinemas
Fast pass at theme parks
Mothers’ Day disappointment
Weddings
Holidays with friends disasters
Stop flying for the environment

TeresaMayspants · 20/08/2024 09:40

I like threads where people are tidying and organising their messy homes. Usually involving a massive declutter. Everyone is so encouraging and I love progress pictures.

Parking with diagrams Land queries with diagrams

Yes, me too! Along with CF ones. Do you remember the road resurfacing and car removal by the workmen, with photos updating the progress?

everywhichway · 20/08/2024 10:03

Worst dates you've ever been on. It's hard to believe some of the total no-hopers that are on the loose out there.

TheShellBeach · 20/08/2024 10:03

Anything with cats included.

Entitled, unpleasant men posting about their wives or girlfriends and having their arses handed to them.

MermaidEyes · 20/08/2024 10:22

I like the Holidays and Books threads. Also like the randomness of Chat - Look at this horror on Rightmove/Whats your favourite 80s film/What were you doing in 1995/Where are my car keys kind of thing.

I really love the threads that pop up usually on a Sunday that are just 'what's happening j your house right now' - I find them oddly comforting in a 'none of us are alone in this world' kind of way 😁

I love these too.

Also, the why are you awake ones. I've started a couple of those over the years

ImAFemaleVersionOfRoyKeane · 20/08/2024 12:35

They aren't posts I like or enjoy as such, as I don't like to see anyone upset, but the ones where a partner is having a suspected affair fascinate me.

There is so much evidence but their DP won't admit it and will give ridiculous excuses!

Ha, yes!

There is a subreddit called r/spottedonrighmove which you might enjoy!

MIL horror stories
Mad health anxiety concerns

'Things you only just found out' threads
I'm always astonished at the things people apparently didn't know, or things they believed which aren't true, and find it hilarious how often the same ones come up! Like people who thought tigers were female lions. Or that Centre Parks is all under a big enclosed dome. Or that the Channel Tunnel goes through the water rather than under the sea bed.

SerafinasGoose · 22/08/2024 22:15

Planes, trains and automobiles.

Threads about weddings and dogs are almost guaranteed to be batshit,

I didn't know about the channel tunnel ...

Hang my head in shame!!!!
