Lyme disease areas

Is there a resource somewhere to find out where the disease is currently lurking? Presumably it varies.

Wondering whether to worry unduly about a tick bite or not.

I'm not sure but was it removed within 24 hours? Is there a rash?

CurvyKale · 19/08/2024 12:14

Isn't it pretty much everywhere now? And a rash only shows in something like 70% of cases, so keep track of any feeling under the weather in the next few weeks (cold etc).

I had a tick bite - my GP prescribed antibiotics as standard just in case, said it wasn’t worth the risk, so you might want to give your GP a ring?

Thanks all. No rash but it's pretty itchy. Was a tiny tick and I removed it within about 3 hours. I didn't realise Lyme disease is all over. I'll look out for symptoms.

The SW is a high Lyme region.

One of my DC got it in London after dog walking on Victoria park or thereabouts four weeks ago. They are quite unwell with Lyme's.
