Where to park in Brighton

We're taking kids to Brighton tomorrow for a change of scenery and DS wanted to see the pier. Haven't been to Brighton in years, but I remember parking being a nightmare and expensive. Looking for tips of where to park that isn't going to cost a small fortune 😀

It won't be cheap but I would go to Churchill Square. Easy to find, central & cheaper than lots of places.

Park at the Marina and get the Volks electric railway up to the pier.. lots of places to eat at the Marina as well , and it's not that far to walk either

There's a car park near the lanes but there's always queues.

Or you could park further out of town and get a bus/train in. Maybe Portslade or Hove.

Churchill square or use Just Park for a cheaper alternative.

Park at the train station and walk down, always spaces reasonable price in comparison to other Brighton car parks

4 hour
Tap in our postcode BN25UT for Sat-Nav directions to the multi-story car park. Alternatively head to the City Centre Seafront & turn left onto A259. The car park offers FREE PARKING for 1500 vehicles for marina visitors only (4 hour time limit apply).

The Levels.

Marina is free for a few hours and you can take Volks railway along to the pier, otherwise try along Marine Parade near Sealanes pool which you pay by app or the King Alfred at the Hove end of the seafront and walk along the prom into Brighton.

To get parked easily and avoid traffic, park in London Road car park and walk through the lanes towards the pier.

If you’ve not going to be out long, then the Marina parking is free but max 3 or 4 hours. You can get the Volks Railway to the pier, however I don’t think the train tickets are that cheap.

We did Hove (Norton rd) last time we went. It's still best part of a tenner for 9hrs but not as eye-watering expensive as central Brighton and meant we could spend the day without rushing (4hrs in Marina felt just a little too short)

Iusedtobeapenguin · 18/08/2024 20:59

Parking anywhere in central Brighton costs a fortune and gets crazy busy in the holidays. I use the park & ride - it saves all the stress and hassle and is only a few quid for the whole day.

IntriguingFactJumble · 18/08/2024 20:59

Used to be one in Dorset street that had spaces more often than more central ones.

BrigadierEtienneGerard · 18/08/2024 21:25

I'd park at Preston Park and get the train in. It will save you a hell of a lot of grief.

AngeloMysterioso · 18/08/2024 22:07

I usually park at the train station.

TheDogsMother · 18/08/2024 22:10

If you don't mind a walk then Norton Road in Hove. It's about the least expensive in the area and yesterday five hours cost us about £7. Nice walk along the seafront into town.

Seeline · 18/08/2024 22:25

We did the park and ride last time and it was brilliant. Much cheaper and way less hassle.

verabarbleen · 19/08/2024 18:30

Id park in shoreham or southwick if you can find some free street parking and then get the train to Brighton , will only take about 15 mins ! Have a great time!!
