Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I've just made my first cuppa & put the washer on, as well as given the kittens their wormer - boy kitten ate his, hidden in cheese, no problem. Girl kitten is not so easily fooled so there's still 1/4 of a tablet to somehow get into her 🤔. Any ideas?

I'm off up to wake the girls at ten, with a cuppa. Dd1's off to see TV Girl with her friend tonight so wants to shower, dry her hair, fancier than usual make up, & stick false nails. Dd2 just wanted waking up at ten 🤷‍♀️

We're not going anywhere today. I need to pack for London tomorrow with dd1, my Tesco delivery's booked, and I want to gel my toenails. There's another load of washing to be done, and then towels too. So a day of pottering but with some things "to-do".

I might deep clean the bathroom, if I get round to it. If not, it'll be on this week's job list, when we're back from London.

What about you? 😊

Morning @lucysmam and all
Usual routine here, breakfast, load of washing on, dance class, online shop delivered, and put away.

Having a break before lunch.

Football season starts today, so DS is about to go out. He will meet DH at the ground. I'm going to see my mum while they are out.
Promised DS banana bread, so I need to do that at some point.
Fajitas for tea and a couple of glasses of wine

We’re having a party! It starts at 3 (daytime party). I’ve been dusting everywhere and cleaning the bathrooms and now DH is hoovering. I went to pick up wine and an easy lunch for the two of us as we’ll be catering later. Walked the dog too. Have a great day all and fingers crossed the weather holds for us!

Morning @lucysmam and everyone else 🌺

A day of nothing except MN and the tv for me, DW is out with family for the day but I'm staying home as not been right since I had a horrible migraine in the week. Usually have 'migraine hangover' for a day but this is day 5 and still feel wobbly.

AdaColeman · 17/08/2024 12:08

Hello @lucysmam and everyone, just a quiet day here today for me.
Have a great trip to London @lucysmam and I hope your party goes well @afaloren !

It must be about forty six years since I visited Oban. I remember we stayed at a B&B at the top of the town, not far from McCaigs Folly. It was quite formal, each afternoon the lady of the house put on tea & biscuits which all the guests were expected to attend, and everyone took their turn to say what they had done that day. The breakfasts were very good, and the view from the room was spectacular.

Took my little girl for a walk this morning with our old lady dog she's having a nap at the moment so DH and I are watching some TV before we do jobs this afternoon.

Crunchymum · 17/08/2024 13:35

Hello @lucysmam

How long are you off to London for? Any plans? (It's my neck of the woods but I'm always curious what "tourists" like to see / do)

We're on a complete go slow at the moment. We did swimming lessons and popped to the park but I have absolutely zero energy or motivation. I've been slammed by the heat and even though it's much cooler now I just don't feel myself?

We are going to get a wriggle on though as we are heading to the the inlaws this afternoon. They have some distant family visiting so they're hosting a gathering in the garden. There'll be a buffet, homemade cakes and lots of fizzy stuff.

Early night all round and hopefully I wake feeling a bit more energised tomorrow.

lucysmam · 17/08/2024 13:45

@Crunchymum we're off to All Points East tomorrow - very excited! I've never been to a music festival before & am very much looking forward to Suki Waterhouse 🎙

Monday - apart from the V&A for the Taylor Swift exhibition, not much planned - any suggestions? My friend said the Sky Garden is nice? We were hoping Taylor tickets would be released from behind the code wall but it seems not & from the seat map, there look to be plenty of tickets left 😥

Hi everyone 👋🏻, I’m discombobulated today, I slept very badly and am still trying to catch up with myself 🙄
The dog and I had a lovely early walk with our neighbours and their dog, it was really peaceful.
I’ve spent a couple of hours sitting in my unfinished summerhouse doing more embroidery and just enjoying a beef burger for lunch.
DH is supposed to be on his way back from Wales, I suspect that the traffic is very heavy. There were police/ambulance sirens on the back hill an hour ago; I have no idea why but an ambulance has just gone past the house ☹️
My other neighbours have a party underway, they’re somewhat noisy so I have retreated indoors; they seem unable to carry on a conversation without everyone bellowing loudly at each other 😖 in broad Scotch accents. One female guest has the most irritating laugh and the last time they had one it went on until 3.30am…….. Perhaps a G&T might help my grumps (or I could just take out my hearing aids!
Enjoy your weekend 😊

Good morning @lucysmam . I hope you are all ready for your trip today. I keep missing you on a Saturday and then I have to search for you on Sunday!

We have my daughter and my toddler grandson staying with us at the moment, which is lovely. Unfortunately I have just started taking a new cancer med (the first week of 54!) and it's making me feel pretty unwell, so I'm not able to enjoy her stay as much as I normally would. We had a big family lunch yesterday which was very nice (if exhausting) and my 14 yr old and usually very difficult eldest grandson was particularly helpful which was unexpected and really very nice! I made sure to thank him afterwards.

Daughter and toddler stayed somewhere else last night, so I've had breakfast in bed - and I'm contemplating going back to sleep. Lunch is leftovers, probably bubble and squeak with the gammon scraps - if I think my guts will cope with the cabbage. Our evening meal will be very simple, as daughter and toddler are going out for a carvery before they come back today.

I have a swim booked for 4.30 - I hope I will feel up to it. We drove half way to my swim on Friday before I decided it probably wasn't a great idea for me to go. It's not just the (medication related) exhaustion, it's the bowel uncertainty that means I may not be able to swim. I'm keeping a diary of everything that goes in and comes out - in the hope that I can identify some triggers - but in the end it probably comes down to get more meds. I'm certainly getting my money's worth from the NHS!

I love hearing about your kittens. My own cat is a very old lady, and now completely deaf. She has given me much love and happiness over the years.

Yesterday was the start of two weeks off work. My plan is house/garden stuff this week and get daughters school stuff prepped. Next weekend we’re at Hayling Island for a week.

Yesterday did the lawns and trimmed back some plants. Took my 18yo to B&Q and spent a ridiculous amount on decorating prep equipment - she is going to decorate the hallway but she’s also just finished a 2 yr painting and decorating course at college so me plonking a bit of paint over the top of the current colour isn’t good enough lol.

Made a roast despite the heat as don’t feel I’ve been eating properly lately.

Today I just woke up but I need to do some OU course before anything else!

Tired due to lack of sleep; I can't flop out yet as I have a delivery today and am checking to see when they say the estimated delivery time.

Also trying to plan a surprise for a friend. And finish watching a film. Need tea, I wish I had a butler
