Just that...off to supermarket in a mo need to grab something I can either throw in oven or easy to prep. Not pizza though.

Fancy something like lasagna or chilli with garlic bread but hate readymade but no energy to make them. Any advice?

It's a shame lasagne is so much faff isn't it, especially when you're poorly! What about jacket potatoes and a nice filling? There's something very comforting about them! You could just get those microwave ones and a variety of toppings?

Beans on toast. Cheese on top.

Oooo both sound good. I love a jacket with chilli 😀

I was feeling rough this week. We just had jacket potatoes, beans and cheese. Comfort food!

Fresh pasta and a ready made sauce (arrabbiata perhaps if you want a bit of spice?) usually they are on a 2 for £3 type deal and can be on the table in big steaming dishes within about 8 mins of opening the fridge door

I also like the tomato and marscapone sauce one and add in some bacon bits myself

You could also get one of those tomato and cheese garlic bread/flatbread type things to have with it

mmm

We got some fresh tortellini, a fresh pasta sauce, garlic bread and a bag of salad the other night. Super easy, filling, and healthy.

Enchiladas or fajitas? If you have an airfryer you could chuck fajitas filling straight in there.

CornishTeaTime · 17/08/2024 09:33

Or was thinking shove a quiche in with coleslaw

Maybe too much effort, but noodle soup always hits the spot for me if I’m under the weather. This BBC good food one is my go to, and it’s every easy to customise to what you like.

Might do carbonara as have lardons and cheese just need to get cream. Too many chooses now. Thanks everyone

I’m obviously really lazy as these all sound normal meals to me! A poorly meal to me is toast/toastie!!

NotARealWookiie · 17/08/2024 09:38

quiche, coleslaw and new potatoes

pie and new potatoes

pasta bake

I make chilli in the slow cooker and have it with rice, avocado, lime and sour cream. Plenty grated cheese on top. Easy to fling the chilli in and ignore it until dinner time.

But if I'm feeling lousy my go to easy dinner that everyone loves is just tuna melt or cheese toasties and Heinz tomato soup. The best tuna toasties are with fresh mozzarella and basil leaves.

Carbonara is usually one of my go to’s when I don’t want anything too time consuming.

My number one go to though for quick and easy when I don’t feel up to cooking is pasta and a jar of pesto. It literally just takes the amount of time to cook the pasta (12ish minutes) and stir in the pesto. I sometimes stick some garlic bread in the air fryer for a few mins as well. Dinner done in under 15 minutes.

I never use cream in carbonara, just bacon/lardons and whisked egg (and Parmesan).
