They are all on Netflix so I’m having a binge.

The worst I think is in number 3. Where the two girls are cooked in a sun bed

The one where there's an explosion and the guy is cut in three by a fence! And then the pieces all slide off. Gross

Redwood48 · 13/08/2024 21:26

Was there one where the rollercoaster came off the tracks or am I thinking of something else?

TBH the plane crash scared the shit out of me. I think that was the first grisly death of the whole series?!

Youcunnyfunt · 13/08/2024 21:29

The logging truck!! I still can’t drive behind one 🙈

BottomlessBrunch · 13/08/2024 21:33

Thanks op, been introducing teen dc to these we've watched first 2 so far.
The plane crash from number 1 scarred me for flying for about 10 years - whenever my bf from school and I go away together we still check our seat trays and we're 40.

Goriest death for me has to be the sunbeds - I stopped using them after that. Also forgot about the whole dentist scene from the second film and the unexpected way the person dies (won't give it away).

But surely if the logs are stacked lengthways they’ll crush the cars to the side? I’ve only seen the first one but that was enough, I’m so pathetic these days that I can’t even watch scenes with ‘mild peril’ 😁

They don't crush the car......

Yes, Final Destination 3 starts with a rollercoaster derailing.

I agree about the plane crash. That can, and does, happen in real life. The bit that stuck with me was the main character just sat in his chair being consumed in flames.

Yes that’s number 3

Number 1 is the plane
Number 2 is the logging truck
Number 3 is the rollercoaster
Number 4 is the race car
Number 5 is the bridge

We’ve watched these movies multiple times, its a tradition of ours to watch number 3 before going to a theme park

we also say’that was a final destination moment’ very frequently 😀

dh reckons when the guy goes through the chain link fence in number 4, though he finds the sunbed one disturbing

i am really not sure about mine, maybe the acupuncture one…or the gymnast

MumofSpud · 13/08/2024 21:42

I have just started number 3 with Dd (18) - I am introducing her to the 'classics'Grin
Now she knows why I hate rollercoasters!

You are brave. I mentioned earlier that me and dh made a mistake watching jt before going on rides and we nearly kissed the ground when we got off

The plane crash from the first one... (or last one spoiler alert!).

But also the sunbed one!

Oh no., the escalator one! 😱😱😱😱😱

Totallymessed · 13/08/2024 21:47

Oh god, I came across a Reddit thread about the worst deaths people had heard of, and made the mistake of starting to read it. The worst was so horrific I don't think I should post it, because, believe me, it's something you will never be able to get out of your head. And I'm someone who normally thinks trigger warnings are ridiculous. The second worst was also the stuff of terrifying nightmares.

Mammyloveswine · 13/08/2024 21:51

Ffs thought I'd watch final destination 4 but it's nowhere to be found.. annoying!

Stepping back in to the road and a high speed bus gets you. That’s actually something that could happen if distracted or trip so it was extra bad.

Also, the original with the scene in plane too

I read somewhere that the scene where the guy had his guts sucked out in a swimming pool has happened in real life.

Just watched the clip. I see what you mean 😂

CormorantStrikesBack · 13/08/2024 22:06

I’ve never watched any of them but I know about the logging truck because years ago a scaffolding pole came off a passing van and through my car window.

Miraculously i didn’t have a scratch but was covered in broken glass, I’d being doing 70mph when it happened so amazed i didn’t crash. The woman in the car behind was hysterical and kept screaming it was like Final Destination 😆

Don't be a tease. You have to share what you read.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 13/08/2024 22:17

All of them are pretty bad but I agree the poor girls in the sun beds was horrific.

I think that Final Destination 4 is missing on Netflix?!

The motorway scene always impresses and horrifies me in equal measures, the way it's shot is brilliant. I ended up thinking most of them would have been better off dying in the original accident as the subsequent one was way worse 😬

Plus surely if all else failed dearth would just cause you to have a brain aneurysm or something (definitely over thought this 😂)

Haha me to!

My dd was quite shocked at all the casual sexism in FD 3 last night, one of the characters up skirts a girl at one point!

I always think my nans first fiancé had a FD death, he was injured in the war and then the ambulance he was travelling in got blown up!

Terrible obviously but also weird as if he had survived neither dd or I would be here....

SparkyBlue · 13/08/2024 23:16

Oh my god we are very sadly obsessed with final destination movies in this house. We were just on holidays and a giant pine cone fell from a tree just before DD walked past snd we all said it would have been like final destination if she'd gotten hit on the head. We'd often be in the car and we'd play"okay if this was final destination what would happen now". I think the sun beds death is my favourite but I've always found the cinema one the one that's unsettled me the most

Blackbutler86 · 13/08/2024 23:38

Reading all of these reminded me of the pic I sent my husband a little while ago. Not a logging truck but it was a truck with huge metal rods on jiggling about when it was going. It took forever before I could get away from it! - We were in traffic when I took the pic not driving along

Aproductofmyera80s · 13/08/2024 23:45

I love the franchise and have recently been watching them with DS 16, he loves all of that natural disaster type stuff. He’s yet to see the 3rd as it wasn’t on sky which is where we watched the other 2. Now it’s on Netflix we will watch soon. I think for me the worst death was when the stoner guy in season 2 got sliced.
