Snacks to pack in suitcase

We are going on holiday next week to Spain- in a hotel but NOT all inclusive. We are on s tight budget so Im hoping to take some food with me but my mind has gone blank! We will be eating out in the evening and of course will have ice creams etc but Im just trying to minimise spending during the day.

  • No chocolate as will obviously melt
  • Breakfast provided so no need to worry about this
So far on my list I have:
  • pringles
  • mini packets of biscuits
🙈

There must be so much more I could take?!

Thanks

If you have a kettle or microwave then pot noodles or super noodles.
Apples

Surely the answer to this is going to a local supermarket?

Given the cost of hold luggage, this must be the most efficient / affordable / convenient solution.

Plus foreign supermarkets are quite fun, due to the novelty factor of different things.

Set a budget and let the kids choose.

Kits buy crisps and fruit when you get there. How many snacks do you eat in a day?

Not sure if I've misunderstood your question, but surely it would be cheaper to get snacks from a Spanish supermarket, than buying them here to take with you?

Would be nicer (and possibly fresher) too.

We've just got back from Spain- supermarket food there was much cheaper than in the uk so stock up when you get there. And it's interesting to have a mooch round a foreign supermarket!!

I made a big bag of instant porridge with dried fruit and nuts last time I went away. Just needed hot water. Syrup, honey or extra fruit is nice too .

Cereal bars, dried fruit, pepperami or beef jerky if you like those.

Just buy when you get there? Unless you’re dealing with allergies

Yep. Trying to scan for ingredients and warnings in another language is stressful. Especially when you've just landed. That's why we always pack fallbacks, and then we raid the supermarket. Nothing as much as fun as foreign toiletry shopping.

I would do as others have recommended. Buy it there.
Apart from the tea. We have a small flat in Spain. The only thing that's more expensive or unavailable is teabags

I always take a small plastic chopping board, a tea towel, a fruit knife, a small serated knife, a bottle opener, and some picnic cutlery and tupperware boxes. Most hotels have a small fridge and a desk which you can use as a preparation area. The serated knife can be used for bread, as well as tomatoes, cheese etc. I put together salads and mini fruit buffets, which offsets the pizza and empanadas we've eaten during the day.
Actually that saves even more money - lunch whilst you're out and about and eat a supper in the room. Take beakers for gazpacho soup!
