I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot, while I wait for the washer to finish spinning. I'll pop another load in & hang the towels when it does.

The kittens are bouncing around like nutters this morning, playing with every toy they have, and trying to kill my roses 🙄 so far one's lost it's head and another has a snapped stem...don't think I'll buy more flowers for a while 🙈

We had planned to head to Meadowhall today but I'm thinking about going in the week instead, when we have nothing planned, to break it up a bit 🤔

If we don't go today, it'll just be a slow, moochy, kind of day at home. I had started a deep clean & clear out then stalled with being away so much so maybe I'll carry on with that - I'll see what the girls think first.

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning @lucysmam and all. It's my birthday, last year of my 30s! And my beautiful Maine coons decided to thoroughly spoil me by launching both of their water fountains across the kitchen and utility room floors. So I was up far too early clearing up the floods.

Now back in bed with coffee, posh chocolates and my kindle where I'm enjoying the peace and quiet. We were going out for lunch but it's too hot so I think I'd quite like a quiet chilled day at home.

May venture out for waffles late afternoon so nobody has to cook, but we'll see how the day goes. So nice to have nowhere to be and no rushing around!

Royalshyness · 11/08/2024 11:39

Bits not boys 😂

lucysmam · 11/08/2024 11:47

@Justonedayatatime11 happiest of birthdays to you 🎂. How old are the kittens now? My pair are now basking in the sunshine on the kitchen side with a cool tea towel under them, sock on 😊 They've demolished half of my flowers & caused chaos elsewhere this morning so very tired now 🙄🤣

@Royalshyness where are you off to? I need to not over pack again at the end of the week for All Points East festival in London with dd1 on Sunday.

I am not getting far today - although, the washing basket is empty & I have made a start on the loo!

We went to meadowhall this morning, good decision avoiding that treat lucysmam
Currently eating some strawberries dipped into a strawberry protein yoghurt.
Little one is on their nap.
My house is a treat today it's normally baking in this weather but it's quite cool I've had to put a hoodie top on!
Have a good Sunday one and all.

Thank you for this thread. Turns out all I needed was a tiny bit of accountability and I've managed to do a really thorough clean of three rooms and the family still isn't home so I'm in with a chance of being able to do the kitchen as well

BrutusMcDogface · 11/08/2024 15:53

@lucysmam - you inspired me to deep clean my downstairs toilet! 😂

three loads of laundry later, and still about 15 to go. 😭

Thurien · 11/08/2024 16:20

I did have a Kit-Kat in the end.

One just had to go to the garage to buy some fuel and, laying there rather seductively on the shelf as my walk to the counter slowed down, was a Chunky complete with a little red and silver suit. I liberated it from its hot confines and when just through the front door together I helped Kit-Kat get its kit off. The rest is for your imagination.

RabbitsRock · 11/08/2024 16:50

lucysmam DD15 & her GF are going to APE on Sunday. Particularly looking forward to TV Girl I believe.

lucysmam · 11/08/2024 17:32

@RabbitsRock they're fairly low on our list as dd's seeing them on Saturday in Leeds. I think we'll catch 40 mins of their set in between the others she's wanting to see 🙄 (I'm going for Ethel Cain, Sukie Waterhouse & hopefully Beabadoobie).

Not sure what we'll do on the Monday - we booked 2 nights in our hotel 🤔

🤣 glad to see I inspired some of you! I've done our loo, cleaned and rearranged the bookshelves, and decided I do not need any more crafty things, books, stationery, beads, I could go on 🙈

I do however need to be sensible about it & store the majority better than I currently do!

Hello @lucysmam . I looked for you this morning but it was obviously too early for you. We left the house just before 9 am to travel 4 hours upcountry to see some elderly relatives, which was actually really nice, and we are staying overnight in a slightly-nicer-than-usual hotel, before going to take another elderly relative, who has dementia and hasn't the faintest idea who we are, out to lunch and then travelling all the way home again so I can work on Tuesday. It's all a bit full on, as neither DH nor I are very well, but worth it.
